Compound Growth Marketing(CGM)

#### About Compound Growth Marketing (CGM)
Compound Growth Marketing (CGM) is a marketing consultancy built to help ambitious B2B SaaS and technology companies scale to $100M+ in revenue by building sustainable, repeatable demand generation systems.
We help clients grow by designing and optimizing a Predictable Demand System™, focused on three compounding drivers of growth:
- Deal Volume
- Deal Process
- Actionable Insights
Our work spans go-to-market strategy, paid acquisition, demand capture (SEO & AI-optimized content), funnel automation, and advanced analytics. We partner closely with our clients' revenue, marketing, and operations teams to drive measurable outcomes — not just activity.
Client demand for organic and AI-search visibility (AEO/GEO) is accelerating faster than almost any other channel we run. We're building out the SEO practice to meet that demand with a standardized, scalable delivery model, and we're hiring an SEO Manager to help lead it.
#### About the Role
The SEO Manager owns SEO and AI-search-visibility (AEO/GEO) strategy for a portfolio of 6–12 B2B client accounts, and owns the output of the analysts who execute against that strategy.
You report to the Head of SEO and work alongside peer Managers within the practice. This is a working-manager role: you lead the work directly — strategy, planning, quality bar — and, as the practice grows, lead a small team of analysts who execute against your plan. We're talking hands-on ownership of both the strategy and the people delivering it, with people-management advancement pathing that grows over time.
This is an ideal role for someone who:
- Is genuinely excited about where SEO is headed as LLMs reshape search, and already treats AI visibility as essential SEO work rather than an emerging trend
- Sees SEO in B2B as equal parts technical execution and content strategy, and doesn't need convincing that the technical fundamentals matter just as much as knowing what content will actually earn visibility with the target buyer
- Gets personal joy from leading others and helping them grow, with a desire to do the hard work of building a team over time
- Comfortable operating as the subject-matter expert behind the scenes, briefing the Account Manager so they can speak to strategy and results with confidence
#### What You Do
#### Strategy & Planning
- Own SEO and AEO strategy for your portfolio, translating performance data into a prioritized plan for analysts to execute, and adjusting when things change
- Maintain a forward view of each account's work three to six months out, not just the current sprint
- Partner with Project Managers to scope planned work against client budgets and team capacity
- Own content strategy for your portfolio: direct topics, structure, and optimization guidance for analysts to execute
#### Team Leadership & Ownership of Output
- Own the output of your analyst team: every audit, brief, technical recommendation, or report that reaches a client reflects your standard and your accountability
- Coach and develop your analysts, building their skill and judgment so they need less direct oversight over time
- Take a role in hiring, performance reviews, and promotion or termination decisions for your team, in partnership with the Head of SEO
#### AI Search Visibility (AEO/GEO)
- Own AI-search-visibility strategy for your portfolio — monitoring how clients show up across ChatGPT, Perplexity, AI Overviews, and comparable surfaces
- Help define how CGM benchmarks and measures AEO performance for clients, including which tools and metrics actually indicate progress in a space that hasn't standardized on either yet
- Bring hard evidence to AEO recommendations — what changed, what moved, and why
- Track how AI search surfaces are evolving and translate that into concrete guidance for clients and analysts
#### Performance & Client Communication
- Monitor performance across your portfolio and translate results into next-step recommendations
- Work hand-in-hand with the Account Manager on client communication, and step into conversations directly as the SME when a client needs that level of depth
- Escalate findings and plan adjustments to practice leadership when an account needs a second set of eyes
#### Why Join CGM
- Step into a practice that's actively being built and standardized — you'll help shape the playbook, not just execute someone else's
- Real input into how your team grows as CGM's SEO/AEO practice scales
- Work with B2B technology and SaaS companies at the center of the current AI-search shift
- Fully remote, flexible culture built around trust and outcomes
#### Non-Negotiables
- 4+ years of direct SEO experience
- 2+ years prior agency experience
- Demonstrated national B2B SEO experience
- Demonstrated hands-on technical SEO expertise (crawlability, site architecture, schema, page experience)
- Proven track record of directing content strategy across a multi-client book, translating buyer's-journey pain points into a prioritized content plan
- Fluency with the standard SEO tool stack (Ahrefs or Semrush, Google Search Console, GA4, Screaming Frog or equivalent)
- Hands on experience with AI tools like Claude Code, ChatGPT Codex, Google AI Studio, AirOps, and Profound
- Strong written and verbal communication
#### Strongly Preferred
- In-house experience at a B2B product company (not B2B services)
- Fluency with conversion-focused analysis (GA4, Looker Studio, or equivalent)
- Numbers-backed results for clients related to LLM visibility
#### Nice-to-Have
- Prior people management experience
#### Compensation & Benefits
- Salary Range: $80,000 – $107,000 base (based on experience), plus performance bonus
- Fully remote — primarily East Coast working hours
- Comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage
- Unlimited PTO and sick leave
- 401(k) with company match
- Parental leave
- Home office / work-from-home stipend
