For an international organization in Geneva, Switzerland, we are urgently looking for a REMOTE Java XML Developer. As a Java XML Developer, you will start to implement fixes to existing data processing programs that take XML and PDF input files, interpret them according to rules specific to each data feed and produce standard output and reporting formats.
During the corona crisis, interviews will be done through WEBEX, and travel is not required for the interviews. All positions are long-term.
Tasks and responsibilities
- Gather requirement & prepare workflow diagrams, if required;
- Ensure consistent error detection, correction, and reporting mechanisms across multiple processes;
- Participate in the analysis and specification of requirements;
- Prepare unit test cases for the related components;
- Develop application matching with the finalized requirement and design;
- New and existing processing programs will be enhanced to establish consistent and transparent reporting and auditing capacity. This will include both creations of entirely new services and migration of existing service
- Process incoming XML and PDF files from our external users into standard formats
- The target system is the Registry Interfaces Cataloging subsystem of the Registry software portfolio.
Profile
- +3 years of experience working using Java and XSL to load, process and validate XML files to complete ongoing work in establishing automatic data workflows;
- Experience with Data modeling, Data analysis, Data Processing, Java Design patterns;
- Extensive experience in performing and code with Java, XML, XSL, SQL;
- Extensive experience using proven frameworks such as SCRUM software development framework and with Secure Development Lifecycle methodologies;
- Expert knowledge in UNIX and Windows programming;
- Fluent in English;
