About this position:
We're looking for a Senior Treasury Accountant to ensure the accuracy, integrity, and timely execution of Later's treasury and platform accounting activity. This role sits at the intersection of Treasury Operations and Accounting, reviewing and validating platform activity, including creator payments, platform increases, customer funding, campaign budgets, and other platform-related transactions. You'll partner closely with Accounting, Treasury, Finance, Operations, Revenue Operations, and Campaigns teams, serving as the connection point between operational activity and financial reporting. This is a high-impact role for a proactive, resourceful problem solver who enjoys investigating discrepancies, improving processes, and driving issues to resolution. You'll directly support the accuracy of customer fund accounting, margin reporting, customer account reconciliations, creator payout forecasting, and cash management. This is a hybrid position based in Boston, MA with 3 days a week in office, or fully remote for candidates located on the East Coast of the United States.

What you'll be doing:
Platform & Treasury Operations
- Review and validate platform activity, including creator payments, platform increases, customer funding activity, and other platform-related transactions.
- Review campaign budgets prior to platform funding to ensure accuracy, completeness, and appropriate approvals.
- Review campaign payment activity and tagging and partner with internal teams to resolve discrepancies.
- Own platform-related inquiries and work with internal teams to research and resolve funding, payment, and transaction issues.
- Educate business partners on budget status, funding requirements, and platform processes.
- Strengthen consistency, accountability, and adherence to established treasury and platform processes.
Accounting & Reconciliations
- Ensure platform activity is accurately reflected in the accounting records and determine the appropriate accounting treatment for transactions.
- Prepare and post journal entries related to platform activity, customer funds, and other areas of responsibility.
- Own key platform-related reconciliations and investigate and resolve variances in a timely manner.
- Reconcile creator payment activity and ensure transactions are accurately recorded in NetSuite.
- Support customer account reconciliations and maintain accurate records of customer funds.
- Maintain and reconcile key general ledger accounts and escalate unresolved items to the Treasury Manager.
- Partner with Accounting and Treasury to ensure appropriate controls, documentation, and accounting procedures are followed.
Data Integrity, Reporting & Forecasting
- Maintain and validate financial and operational data across Salesforce, NetSuite, and other relevant systems.
- Research system discrepancies and work with cross-functional teams to identify root causes and implement appropriate resolutions.
- Ensure platform funding and related financial information is accurately reflected across systems.
- Support creator payout forecasting and cash management by ensuring funding and payment information is complete and reliable.
- Support campaign budget and margin tracking and help identify issues that may impact financial reporting.
- Support the accurate accounting and reporting of customer funds and platform activity.
Process Improvement & Cross-Functional Partnership
- Identify opportunities to improve and streamline treasury operations, accounting processes, and financial controls.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to improve processes, resolve recurring issues, and ensure activities are completed accurately and on time.
- Proactively identify process and control gaps and recommend practical solutions.
- Influence and educate business partners on financial processes, data requirements, and accountability.
- Identify opportunities to leverage technology, automation, and AI tools to improve financial operations and efficiency.
- Support annual audits, internal control initiatives, and other ad hoc accounting, treasury, and financial operations projects.
What success looks like:
- Platform activity and funding are accurately executed and accounted for across systems.
- Customer funds and accounts are properly reconciled, with unresolved items escalated and closed quickly.
- Campaign budgets are reviewed and validated before platform funding, with clear approvals in place.
- Creator payments and cash requirements can be forecast with greater accuracy.
- Treasury and accounting processes are more accurate, efficient, scalable, and controlled, with process and control gaps surfaced and resolved proactively.

- 5+ years of experience in accounting, treasury, finance, or financial operations, with a strong understanding of accounting principles, reconciliations, journal entries, and financial controls.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate discrepancies and identify root causes.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a strong commitment to data accuracy.
- Proven ability to independently manage multiple processes, priorities, and deadlines, with an ownership mentality that takes issues from identification through resolution.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and educate cross-functional teams and advocate for timely, accurate execution.
- Experience with NetSuite, Salesforce, and billing or platform funding processes.
- Strong Excel skills and the ability to analyze large data sets and perform detailed reconciliations.
- Experience working in both private and public company environments preferred.
- Experience supporting annual audits preferred.
- CPA, CTP, or MBA preferred.
- Experience with financial, payment, or creator payout platforms preferred.
- Experience using Claude, ChatGPT, or other generative AI tools to improve analysis, research, reporting, or workflow efficiency preferred.

Our approach to compensation:
We take a market-based & data-driven approach to compensation. We leverage data from trusted third-party compensation sources to help us understand the market value of a role based on function, level, geographic location, and scope. We evaluate compensation bi-annually, including performance and market-related factors.
Our salaries are benchmarked against market Total Cash Compensation for the geographic location of our job posting. Compensation for some roles is structured as On Target Earnings (OTE = base + commission/variable) while for others it is structured as Salary only.
To comply with local legislation and ensure transparency, we share salary ranges on all job postings. Skills, experience and other factors help determine the final salary we offer which may vary from the original range posted.
Additionally, all permanent team members are eligible to participate in various benefits plans as part of their overall compensation package.
Salary Range:
$ 120,000 - $ 140,000 USD
