Marie Curie is the UK’s leading end-of-life charity. We are the largest non-NHS provider of end-of-life care in the UK, the only provider across all 4 nations, delivering community nursing and hospice care across the country, while providing information and support on all aspects of dying, death, and bereavement. Our leading research pushes the boundaries of what we know about good end-of-life, and our campaigns fight for a world where everyone gets to have the best possible quality of life while living with an illness, they are likely to die from.
The care and support we provide is highly valued by the people we care for and their loved ones, but at present we are only reaching around 10% of dying people at the end of life. Right now, one in four people in the UK with a terminal illness, do not get the care or support they deserve at the end of their lives.
We want a different society than the one we live in now. Our mission for the next five years is to close the gap in the number of people missing out on what they need at the end-of-life
Your role in our mission:
We are delighted to offer an opportunity for a Senior Hub Coordinator to join our London and Home Counties team on a 10-month fixed-term contract.
The central coordination hub supports Marie Curie nurses and healthcare assistants to deliver care in people’s homes across the UK, providing practical support and essential emotional care.
In this role, you will:
- Be the main point of contact for Marie Curie services across the region.
- Work with other senior coordinators to keep the coordination hub running smoothly, liaising with clinical support teams, managers, volunteers, referrers, local CHC teams, families and carers.
- Manage the referral process, coordinate and schedule care, and ensure accurate data entry in operational and clinical systems such as EMIS and SystmOne.
Job Structure:
- Contract: 10-month fixed term contract
- Hours: 37.5 hours per week
- Working pattern: Five days per week, including weekends and Bank Holidays
- Shifts: Scheduled between 08:00 and 22:00
- Salary: Agenda for Change Pay Scale Band 3, £25,760 – £27,476 per annum, pro-rated
- Location: Home based, England
What we are looking for:
- Proven experience in customer service, including answering customer questions, offering support, and ideally supervising team members to ensure customers are happy.
- Strong IT and communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- A motivated, adaptable, and dependable professional with a positive attitude.
- An understanding of the healthcare environment.
- The ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to multitask effectively
