As a Staff Accountant on our Member Services team, you’ll work closely with a team of accountants to support a diverse set of Member businesses across multiple industries. You’ll gain hands-on experience preparing core financials, ensuring data accuracy, and helping Members understand the direct impact of strong accounting on their operations. This is a role built for someone who enjoys learning, problem-solving, and seeing their work make a real difference.

What We'll Achieve

  • Maintain accurate, timely, and complete financial records for assigned Member accounts, ensuring all month-end close activities are completed on schedule.
  • Deliver clear, accurate monthly financial reporting packages that help Members understand their fiscal health and confidently make business decisions.
  • Improve the quality, consistency, and accuracy of accounting data by identifying discrepancies, investigating variances, and resolving issues proactively.
  • Recommend workflow, system, and process enhancements that make our Accounting Team more efficient and scalable.
  • Support general accounting activities across accounts payable, accounts receivable, sales tax filings, and related operational accounting areas.
  • Contribute to a high-performing, collaborative partnership with the Member Services Team.

Core Responsibilities (Functional Duties)

  • Import, categorize, and maintain transactional data for assigned Member accounts.
  • Reconcile all reconcilable accounts, including monthly bank reconciliations.
  • Monitor and analyze accounting data; investigate variances and irregularities.
  • Organize and update financial records to maintain accuracy and compliance.
  • Prepare and issue accurate monthly financial statements.
  • Oversee general accounting functions, including AP, AR, and sales tax processes.
  • Prepare documentation for external auditors as needed.
  • Recommend ways to improve workflows, reduce costs, or enhance revenue for Members.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Who You Are

  • You have 2+ years of experience in accounting or finance.
  • You hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • You understand and adhere to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • You are highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple priorities.
  • You have experience managing multiple clients at once, such as at a CPA or small accounting firm, and know how to juggle different books and deadlines.
  • You thrive in a collaborative environment and work effectively with a Senior Accountant reviewer.
  • You are curious, self-motivated, and enjoy learning across multiple industries.
  • You have strong written and verbal communication skills, especially when explaining financial information.
  • You are tech-savvy and comfortable using modern tools, including: QuickBooks Online, Excel, project management tools, and AI assistants
  • You are goal-oriented and capable of handling complex, time-sensitive tasks with accuracy.
  • CPA is not required.
