About the Role:
The staff accountant will be an essential member of the finance team who is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and supporting day-to-day accounting operations. In this role you will assist with posting A/P, A/R journal entries, account reconciliations, financial reporting and month-end close processes. This role requires strong attention to detail, analytical thinking and a solid understanding of accounting principles
Requirements
In this role, you will:
- Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring accurate financial reporting
- Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts on a regular basis
- Assist with month- and year-end close processes, including accruals and adjustments
- Maintain and update financial records in compliance with company policies and accounting standards
- Support the preparation of internal and external financial reports
- Collaborate with other departments to gather financial data and resolve discrepancies
- Assist with audits the annual audit of RDF and 20+ SPE’s
- Monitor and analyze accounting data to identify trends, variances or areas for improvement
- Special projects as needed.
Required Qualifications:
- 3 to 5 years of relevant accounting experience.
- MIP Fund Accounting software experience a plus.
- Ability to meet tight deadlines and work collectively within a team environment.
- Detailed-oriented and able to multitask effectively.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, with strong Excel skills.
- Knowledge of the New Markets Tax Credit (NMTC) program is a plus.
Education:· Bachelor of Science in Accounting from an accredited university (candidates with non-accounting or adjacent degrees will not be considered at this time).
Job Expectations:· 40-hour work week with the flexibility to stay longer during special projects.
