About Us
Safari Micro is a well-established U.S.-based MSP and value-added reseller supporting businesses, schools, and government agencies across the U.S. We also partner with growing U.S.-based companies to build high-performing remote teams.
About Our Client
Our client is a U.S.-based company specializing in the design, manufacturing, and distribution of doors, cabinets, and architectural woodwork for commercial and multi-family construction projects. With established operations and a growing focus on technology and process improvement, they are investing in automation, analytics, and AI to improve how their teams work.
About the Role
We’re looking for a Power Platform Developer who can do more than just build applications.
In this role, you’ll work closely with business leaders and product owners to understand how their teams work, identify opportunities for improvement, and turn those needs into practical technology solutions.
You’ll take ownership of the development lifecycle—from understanding the business problem and shaping the backlog, to designing, building, deploying, and supporting solutions across the Microsoft Power Platform.
The environment is heavily invested in Microsoft technologies, with a strong focus on finding smarter ways to work through automation, analytics, and AI.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys being the bridge between business and IT and wants meaningful ownership over the solutions they build.
What You'll Do
Partner with the Business
- Work directly with product owners and business stakeholders to understand their needs, challenges, and priorities.
- Help determine what should be built and why, rather than simply taking development requests.
- Build and maintain a prioritized development backlog, balancing new solutions with enhancements to existing applications.
- Translate business requirements into clear technical requirements and document current and future workflows.
- Conduct regular check-ins with business stakeholders, gather feedback, and adjust priorities as business needs change.
Build & Deliver Power Platform Solutions
- Design, develop, and maintain Power Apps (Canvas and Model-Driven) supporting field, warehouse, and back-office operations.
- Build and optimize Power Automate solutions, including cloud flows, desktop/RPA automation, and business process flows.
- Develop Power BI datasets, reports, dashboards, data models, DAX measures, and row-level security.
- Design and manage Dataverse solutions, including tables, relationships, security roles, and business rules.
- Develop Power Pages portals when needed and integrate solutions with SharePoint, Teams, Outlook, Dynamics 365, SQL Server, ERP platforms, and CSV-based integrations.
Bring AI Into the Mix
- Look for opportunities to incorporate AI into Power Platform solutions.
- Use tools such as Copilot Studio, AI Builder, and Copilot capabilities across Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power BI.
- Leverage AI development tools to accelerate delivery, troubleshoot issues, prototype ideas, and improve solution quality.
- Stay current with new Microsoft AI capabilities and identify practical ways they can benefit the business.
Support & Improve What You Build
- Apply Microsoft 365, Entra ID, and DLP (Data Loss Prevention) security and governance best practices.
- Support development, testing, and production environments.
- Document solutions, provide user training, and support deployments.
- Troubleshoot issues and continuously improve existing applications and workflows.
What We're Looking For
- 3+ years of hands-on experience developing solutions with Power Apps and Power Automate.
- Experience with both Canvas Apps and Model-Driven Apps.
- Working knowledge of Power BI, including data modeling, DAX, and report/dashboard development.
- Experience working with Dataverse or Common Data Service.
- Solid understanding of Microsoft 365, SharePoint, and Entra ID (Azure AD).
- Experience working with connectors, custom connectors, and REST/OData APIs.
- Experience working directly with business stakeholders to gather requirements, manage a backlog, and prioritize competing requests.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to turn business problems into practical technical solutions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to work with and present to non-technical stakeholders.
- Genuine interest in AI and emerging technology, with hands-on experience using tools such as Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude, or similar tools to improve productivity and solve problems.
Nice to Have
- Experience with Power Pages, Copilot Studio, and AI-enabled Power Platform solutions.
- Microsoft certifications such as PL-100, PL-200, PL-400, or PL-600.
- Experience with SQL Server, Azure Logic Apps, Azure Functions, or C#/.NET.
- Experience integrating Power Platform with ERP systems, including Agility/DMSi ERP.
- Experience in construction, manufacturing, distribution, or similar operational environments.
- Previous experience as a Business Analyst, Product Owner, or similar business-technology bridge role.
- Experience with Microsoft Fabric for data integration, analytics, and reporting.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude, or similar platforms.
