ABOUT THE ROLE
MVB sits at the center of a fast-growing ecosystem of fintech partners, payment processors, and core banking infrastructure, one that grows more sophisticated every quarter. This role serves as the primary liaison between MVB's fintech stakeholders and its shared services and core teams, diagnosing non-standard integration needs and translating them into solutions that can be scoped, documented, and built. The work spans partnering with fintech teams to assess new and expanding fintech relationships, partnering with core vendors to scope new integration capabilities, and leading cross-functional discussions through to a documented, supportable resolution.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Serve as the primary technical liaison between our Fintech stakeholders and MVB's Shared Services and core product teams for complex, non-standard integration needs.
- Support the assessment of new fintech and processor integration requirements, with fluency in funds flow and data flow design.
- Diagnose scoped technical requirements for evolving or expanding fintech relationships and translate them into actionable, documented solutions.
- Partner with core vendor relationships to scope and develop new integration capabilities that don't yet exist in MVB's standard toolkit.
- Lead cross-functional integration discussions through to completion, ensuring documentation is established and maintained for future support.
- Provide consultative support for specialized payment and data exchange configurations, including file-based delivery formats and secure data exchange setup.
- Partner with the Core Integration Consultant on engagements that require deep core banking expertise, and provide technical direction on shared integration work.
EDUCATION & WORK EXPERIENCE
- 5+ years of experience in core banking implementation, payments operations, or fintech/BaaS integration, ideally spanning both the bank and vendor or processor side.
- Demonstrated experience designing or supporting non-standard payment or account integrations, not just standard onboarding or turn-up work.
- Strong understanding of ACH, wire, and check/image processing mechanics, including file formats such as X9.
- Experience partnering with core banking vendors on solution scoping, ideally including direct vendor relationship experience.
- Excellent written communication skills, with demonstrated ability to produce technical documentation that a third party can execute against.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent professional experience.
