We are looking for a Microsoft 365 Administrator – SharePoint & Teams to join our IT team. In this role, you will be responsible for the administration, optimization, and support of Microsoft 365 collaboration platforms, with a particular focus on SharePoint Online and Microsoft Teams. You will work closely with internal stakeholders across different countries and business units to ensure a secure, efficient, and user-focused digital workplace.
Due to the international scope of the role, working hours are not fixed and may include evening, night, weekend, or rotating shifts, depending on the regions being supported.
Your Responsibilities
- Administration, operation, and continuous development of SharePoint Online, OneDrive, and Microsoft Teams, including the associated admin centers.
- Management of SharePoint sites, Teams, channels, Microsoft 365 groups, roles, permissions, and internal and external access. Microsoft specifically includes site and group management, sharing settings, and site administrators as part of SharePoint administration.
- Design and implementation of governance and lifecycle requirements, for example for site structures, naming conventions, ownership, metadata, archiving, and retention. These topics are also recurring elements in current internal SharePoint initiatives, such as structure, permissions, migration, versioning, and ownership.
- Configuration and support of Teams policies for collaboration, messaging, meetings, apps, and guest access, as well as monitoring usage and service quality.
- Execution or support of migrations and automation of recurring administrative tasks using PowerShell and, ideally, Microsoft Graph.
- Monitoring, incident and problem management, as well as 2nd/3rd-level support, root-cause analysis, documentation, and sustainable knowledge transfer. These responsibilities are also reflected in current market profiles for Microsoft 365 and SharePoint administrators.
- Advising business departments, gathering technical requirements, and supporting the introduction, training, and adoption of new Microsoft 365 features.
- Completed degree or vocational training in IT, or an equivalent qualification with relevant practical experience.
- Sound knowledge of administering SharePoint Online and Microsoft Teams in a Microsoft 365 environment.
- Experience with the Microsoft 365 admin center, Teams admin center, SharePoint admin center, and Microsoft Entra ID, including role, group, and permission concepts.
- Good understanding of IT security, data protection, and compliance, for example external sharing, sensitivity labels, retention, and data loss prevention.
- Knowledge of PowerShell, automation, and structured troubleshooting; experience with ITIL-oriented operations processes is an advantage. Current employer profiles particularly identify PowerShell, automation, documentation, secure operations, and analytical problem-solving as key competencies.
- Analytical and self-directed working style, strong service orientation, and good communication skills in English.
Desirable Knowledge
- Experience with the administration and rollout of Microsoft 365 Copilot, especially with regard to licensing, permissions, data quality, Copilot readiness, and the prevention of oversharing. - Understanding of Power Platform environments, knowledge sources, topics, variables, actions, connectors, Power Automate, and data loss prevention and lifecycle concepts for agents.
