Job Summary:
Administers and supports employee benefits programs, including leave management, new hire benefits enrollment, and employee inquiries. Serves as a key resource for staff, ensuring smooth benefits processes and compliance with company policies. Pulls reports, provides guidance to employees, and collaborates with HR teams to support operational needs.
Essential Functions:
- Manages leave of absence programs, including FMLA, short-term and long-term disability, and company-sponsored leave policies, ensuring compliance with regulations and internal policies.
- Assists new employees in understanding and selecting benefits options during the onboarding process, providing guidance and answering questions.
- Pulls reports from HRIS and benefits systems to track employee benefits enrollment, leave usage, and compliance metrics.
- Answers questions from employees regarding benefits eligibility, claims, and coverage, escalating complex issues as needed.
- Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations related to employee benefits, including ACA, COBRA, and HIPAA.
- Coordinates with benefits vendors, payroll, and HR teams to resolve benefits-related issues and ensure timely processing of enrollments and claims.
- Supports HR operational duties by assisting in benefits audits, open enrollment planning, and cross-functional HR projects.
- Educates employees on wellness programs, retirement plans, and available resources to maximize benefits utilization.
- Assists with broader HR initiatives, such as employee engagement, process improvements, or data integrity projects as needed.
Level of Supervision Received:
Plans and arranges own work; works with manager to prioritize projects.
Education (can be substituted for experience):
Minimum Bachelor's Degree required
Work Experience (can be substituted for education):
2 - 4 years of experience required; 5 - 7 years preferred
