Position: Bilingual Arabic STEM Expert (PhD) — AI Safety
Type:Contract
Compensation:$38–$42/hour
Location:Remote
Commitment:20+ hours/week
Role Responsibilities
- Write expert-level prompts in Arabic across specialized scientific topics.
- Evaluate and annotate model responses for scientific accuracy, helpfulness, and appropriate handling of sensitive content.
- Apply structured guidelines to classify prompts and conversations.
- Work independently and asynchronously to improve AI model safety.
- Collaborate with AI research teams to ensure the responsible handling of dual-use information.
Qualifications
Must-Have
- PhD in chemistry, biology, or a closely related field.
- Native or near-native fluency in Arabic and business-level written English.
- Deep familiarity with modern laboratory and computational techniques.
- Sound judgment around scientific safety and the responsible handling of dual-use information.
Preferred
- Based in Saudi Arabia or the wider MENA region.
- Expertise in radiochemistry, nuclear chemistry, or related fields.
- Depth in specific subfields like organic synthesis, molecular biology, or genetics.
- Experience with chemical safety, biosafety, or hazardous-materials handling.
- Experience reviewing or grading technical content.
