The Company:

LocalEyes is recruiting a German translator to translate, localise and transcreate IT and Marketing content.
German Translator based in Germany - Remote
Field of expertise: IT and Marketing translation
Location: home-office from Germany
Position Start: asap
Work duration: 1-y maternity cover
Contract: Fixed term
We are looking for a native German translator who is/has:
- Native in target language with a degree in Applied Linguistics, Translation or similar
- IT skilled with knowledge and experience of SDL Studio and CAT tools
- 3-5 years experience in the localization of consumer communications for a major IT account or global, high-end luxury retail brands
- Extensive experience in marketing translation of mass media at localisation agency, advertising/PR agency, production company, corporate marketing communications department, publishing company or similar
- Proven editorial and/or journalistic skills and up-to-date with language and terminology trends
- Quality-driven and detail oriented with an understanding how to deliver quality creative copy and its impact
- Excellent written and spoken English to truly understand the meaning and translate as if it were originally written in target language
- Well familiar with US American culture and pop culture in order to recognize the author's play on words or visual references, and able to adequately localise into target language
- Obsessed by the detail and has a passion for languages
- Flexible work ethic, and willing to working beyond a conventional 9:00-17:30 framework. Some weekend working is required, with ability to work across different time zones
- Understanding of dynamics between client and vendor
- Understanding and attitude to work within a confidential environment
- Able to work in a fast paced, demanding creative and production environment with a multiple changes in project priorities and tight deadlines
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Available to travel as the business calls
- Additional: Knowledge of Mac and iPhone technologies a distinct advantage
For this role, you will be working as part of a dynamic team and in an international environment. Specific responsibilities include marketing and IT translations, linguistic review and QA, checking of terminology consistency through the management of TMs, glossaries and style guides to guarantee the quality of deliverables plus some minor project management.
