**Job Description**
**General/Position Summary**
The Pain Regional Account Manager is a field-based role responsible for delivering flexible, high-impact coverage across the Pain Business Unit to address territory vacancies, leaves of absence, and priority business needs. The role reports to the Area Field Leader and is deployed based on regional business needs.
Pain Regional Account Managers are deployed dynamically across geographies to maintain business continuity, support priority accounts, and drive execution against commercial objectives. Depending on business need, the role may assume PTAM or TBM responsibilities and is expected to quickly establish continuity across key customer relationships, accounts, and business priorities.
When not covering a vacancy, the role supports surge initiatives, account recovery, new hire onboarding, and other strategic business priorities to help sustain performance and execution across the business.
This role supports priority business needs across the Pain Business Unit through temporary territory deployments that may last approximately 10-12 weeks at a time. While deployed, candidates will live and work within the assigned territory during the week, engaging customers through regular in-territory travel. Employees will be supported to return home on a regular basis, typically weekly, and should be comfortable working in changing geographies and stepping into priority assignments as business needs evolve.
**Key Duties & Responsibilities**
**Coverage & Deployment**
- Provide immediate, flexible coverage across assigned regions in response to territory vacancies, leaves of absence, and other priority business needs.
- Deploy based on AFL-led prioritization and business need, with input from Regional Field Leaders to ensure continuity across priority territories and accounts.
- Serve as a trained, deployment-ready field resource capable of stepping quickly into PTAM or TBM coverage assignments with limited ramp time.
- Assume full ownership of customer engagement, account execution, pull-through activities, and territory planning while deployed.
- Execute structured handoff and transition processes when entering and exiting assignments to ensure continuity of customer relationships, account plans, and business execution.
- Support onboarding and ramp-up of newly hired representatives by providing territory knowledge transfer, field-based coaching, and continuity during transition periods.
**Account Engagement**
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with healthcare professionals, priority accounts, health systems, and institutional stakeholders as required by deployment assignment.
- Maintain engagement with priority targets and accounts during vacancy and leave coverage periods to minimize business disruption.
- Quickly assess new customer environments and identify key stakeholders, opportunities, risks, and execution priorities.
- Adapt customer engagement strategies based on territory needs, account dynamics, and business objectives.
- Ensure effective transition of customer ownership, account plans, and business activity to permanent territory ownership at the conclusion of deployment assignments.
**Business Planning & Execution**
- Rapidly assess new territories and accounts to identify business priorities, risks, opportunities, and required actions.
- Execute territory and account plans with minimal transition time while maintaining alignment to commercial objectives.
- Maintain continuity of business performance during coverage assignments and support recovery efforts where performance has been disrupted.
- Utilize Veeva and other approved systems to document activity, customer interactions, account plans, and territory updates.
- Deliver consistent execution across changing territories, customer types, and business priorities.
**Collaboration & Operating Model**
- Report directly to the Area Field Leader and partner closely with Regional Field Leaders for territory-specific coaching, deployment support, account planning, and local market context.
- Collaborate with AFLs, RFLs, Commercial Operations, Training, Marketing, Market Access, Medical, and other cross-functional partners to support business execution.
- Operate within established deployment, transition, and account ownership guardrails to promote consistency, fairness, and effective field execution.
- Share best practices, customer insights, and lessons learned across regions based on broad field exposure.
- Maintain strong communication with field leadership throughout deployment assignments to ensure alignment and execution against priorities.
**Training & Capability Development**
- Maintain readiness to assume PTAM or TBM responsibilities across diverse customer environments and geographies.
- Complete all required deployment-readiness training and remain current on product, disease state, compliance, access, and customer engagement expectations.
- Support new-hire onboarding and development through field coaching, territory transition support, and sharing of best practices.
- Serve as a resource to field leadership by providing customer insights, market observations, and feedback from multiple territories and regions.
- Continuously build capability across account planning, customer engagement, launch execution, business planning, and territory management.
**Required Education Level**
Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
**Required Experience**
- Typically requires 7+ years of experience in pharmaceutical or biotech sales, with demonstrated success in field-based commercial roles.
- 3+ years of Account Management experience and ability to leverage existing institutional relationships
- Proven ability to operate effectively in ambiguous, fast-changing environments with frequent transitions between territories or assignments.
- Experience in both community-based and institutional account engagement preferred, with emphasis on adaptability across different customer types.
- Experience with pulling through the implementation of inpatient formularies , protocols, pathways, and order sets.
**Required Knowledge/Skills**
- Strong ability to quickly assess new markets and prioritize effectively with limited transition time.
- High adaptability and learning agility; able to operate effectively across changing geographies, priorities, and stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple transitions and maintain continuity of execution across assignments.
- Strong collaboration skills within a matrixed, dynamically deployed field model.
- Proficiency with CRM tools (e.g., Veeva) and ability to navigate systems supporting multi-territory coverage.
**Other Requirements**
- Travel by car or airplane up to 80% of the time and work after hours as required by business needs
- Employee will be required to establish certain customer credentials and requirements, which include, but may not be limited to, successful completion of trainings, background screens, drug testing and vaccinations.
- Valid driver’s license and in good standing

**Pay Range:**
$133,600 - $200,400

The range provided is based on what we believe is a reasonable estimate for the base salary pay range for this job at the time of posting. This role is eligible for an annual bonus and annual equity awards. Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay, in accordance with federal and state requirements. Actual base salary pay will be based on a number of factors, including skills, competencies, experience, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
