Responsibilities

Overview
Cordoba is a leading engineering and program management firm based in California. We are seeking a Senior Proposal and Pursuit Manager to oversee proposal development and market strategies, primarily for the Transportation Sector. This role will provide leadership across a variety of pursuit development efforts, including leading cross-functional pursuit teams and managing proposal execution within established deadlines. The candidate will work collaboratively with Transportation Sector leadership and dedicated proposal staff, including proposal managers, coordinators, graphic designers, and technical writers. The candidate is expected to be a self-starter with knowledge of the transportation industry, excellent oral and written communication skills, and the ability to develop creative pursuit strategies to address growth objectives. This candidate must be a strong team player with a vested interest in Cordoba’s success.
Responsibilities
Proposal Development: Collaborate with the development and management of proposals, primarily within the Transportation Sector:

  • Co-lead go/no-go meetings and make recommendations.
  • Build relationships with subconsultants and other outside partners to establish marketable project teams.
  • Serve as the lead person responsible for assigned proposal creation, management, and delivery, including task assignment, writing, graphic ideation, oversight of work by others, and coordinating with the sector’s technical staff.
  • Bears ultimate responsibility for the quality and submittal of assigned proposals and other deliverables.
  • Lead the planning and development of presentations and interviews with sector leaders.
  • Supervise and mentor junior staff as needed.

Pursuit Development: Actively participate an active role in pursuit-related activities within the company, primarily supporting the Transportation Sector:

  • Provide strategic recommendations based on pre-capture and capture efforts.
  • Participate in and contribute to the development of company/sector strategic plans. Work with company and Transportation Sector leadership to develop and execute strategic business plans, comprehensive marketing initiatives, and client-focused strategies.
  • Network with and develop clients in conjunction with business development staff.
  • Participate in client service plan review meetings, strategy meetings, pursuit kick-off meetings, etc.
  • Identify opportunities based on strengths, weaknesses, and alignment with sector goals and qualifications.

Pursuit Performance: Collaborate with the management sector to evaluate and enhance sales performance.

  • Maintain working knowledge of sales goals, KPIs, lessons learned, resource allocation, key recruitment, and forecasting goals/efforts.
  • Analyze sector performance relative to goals and understand sector alignment along with the firmwide objective.

Qualifications
Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, or another related field, or demonstrated equivalency
  • 10+ years of industry experience managing large, complex A/E/C proposals and proposal teams
  • Experience with marketing in the Transportation industry and the ability to support multi-sector strategies

Preferred

  • Strong focus on developing and implementing quality assurance within the proposal process.
  • Ability to work with and collaborate with a diverse staff, including senior leadership, technical staff, and project staff
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to quickly assess problems and identify and implement solutions
  • Ability to balance multiple concurrent assignments and shift priorities quickly
  • Ability to demonstrate proficiency in organizational and time management skills, and ability to remain flexible with shifting priorities
  • Proficiency using the Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams
  • Proficiency using Adobe products, including InDesign, Acrobat, Photoshop, and Illustrator

Pay Range: $110,000 - $150,000 per year (commensurate with experience, knowledge, and history of successful pursuits)
Work Location: Remote (California residents preferred)
Travel: Occasional travel to the Cordoba office locations in California
Visa Sponsorship: Legal authorization to work in the U.S.A. on a full-time basis without sponsorship
