ORGANIZATIONAL SUMMARY:
Girls on the Run International is a nonprofit organization dedicated to creating a world where every girl knows and activates her limitless potential and is free to boldly pursue her dreams. We inspire girls across the United States and Canada to be joyful, healthy, and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running. As a physical activity-based positive youth development program, our evidence-based curriculum is designed to enhance girls’ social, psychological, and physical skills and behaviors to successfully navigate life experiences.

POSTITION SUMMARY:Reporting directly to the Director of Digital Marketing, the Digital Marketing Manager will oversee the development, execution, and evolution of the organization’s digital marketing strategy across social, email and web properties to drive engagement, expand our participant and volunteer base, increase brand loyalty, and improve our financial performance. The ideal candidate has excellent writing skills, thrives in a team-oriented environment, and is passionate about our mission.

Responsibilities

Digital Marketing

  • Partner with Director of Digital Marketing to develop a comprehensive strategic digital marketing plan that outlines overall objectives, key strategies, and concrete tactics to support organizational goals. Executing various digital marketing tactics including, but not limited to:
  • Marketing automation campaigns
  • Google AdWords and Meta campaigns
  • SEO
  • SEM
  • Google Ads other paid ad programs
  • Google Tag Manager and/or UTM tracking
  • Remarketing campaigns
  • Manage efforts to successfully implement the digital marketing plan to increase audience acquisition and conversion across all digital platforms and channels.
  • Collaborate with Partnerships to provide sponsorship content recommendations, deliver on promised partner benefits (including cause-marketing campaigns and partner activations), and steward partners through social media engagement and influencer research and engagement. Serve as the liaison between the Communications Team and Partnerships and Development team.

Content & Email Marketing

  • Contribute to the organization’s content calendar and manage the distribution of content across digital properties and channels including website, social media, email, ads, etc.
  • Perform keyword research to optimize existing content and uncover new opportunities.
  • Research timely topics and digital trends to improve effectiveness of content strategy.
  • Write and manage the production of external newsletters including the monthly GOTR newsletter and GOTR Shop ecommerce emails. · Develop and execute a strategy to increase email subscribers for both newsletters. · Develop and analyze email marketing metrics and audience segmentation to improve open-rate, click-thru rate, etc. Plan, execute, and measure A/B testing and open rates.
  • Leverage earned media coverage across digital channels to help establish Girls on the Run as a thought leader in the youth programming space.
  • Provide content direction and guidance for council digital resources including email marketing campaigns.

Reporting & AnalyticsTrack and analyze performance and identify best use of resources, developing both strategic and tactical recommendations.

  • Set up specific measurement requirements and make recommendations based on the analytics and data.
  • Track digital marketing properties and paid campaigns through an integrated digital analytics framework.
  • Utilize Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, and social media analytics to assess ROI of online channels to inform future strategy.
  • Provide monthly reports and recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Provide regular reporting and data analysis on partner content, with engagement and links to share with partners.

Website

Manage HQ website to maximize performance and conversion.

  • Collaborate with internal teams to create and launch landing pages for campaigns and partner activations.
  • Execute basic to intermediate website updates on WordPress.
  • Manage external web vendors and track budget.
  • Support and guide council website management and updates.

Social MediaDevelop and execute social media strategy and engage followers to achieve organizational goals in collaboration with Communications & PR Manager.

  • Distribute content daily across all HQ social media.
  • Set content direction, best practices and training support for social media resources for Girls on the Run councils.
  • Plan, execute, and manage paid social media campaigns, including audience targeting, creative direction, budget allocation, and performance optimization.
  • Design or oversee development of assets for digital properties (photos, graphics, etc.).
  • Ensure timely engagement on societal topics that are pertinent to Girls on the Run.
  • Manage and execute influencer and community outreach initiatives.

Qualities and Qualifications

  • 5+ years of demonstrated experience with managing digital communities through direct engagement, content creation and moderation as relevant to the responsibilities of this role
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly collaborative, with the ability to organize cross-departmental projects
  • Organized and proactive, with the ability to take initiative and manage multiple tasks and projects at a time and deliver within deadlines
  • Strong analytical skills and data-driven thinking
  • Experience in non-profit, youth development, consumer services and franchise operations a plus
  • Ability to leverage the opportunities of this role to forward inclusivity, diversity, equity and access
