ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for a professional to join the Regulatory & Accounting Specifications (RAS) team, which is responsible for translating new products, features, and regulatory changes into clear, auditable, and implementable accounting and regulatory definitions.
This role covers the process from the initial assessment of a product or feature through implementation, testing, and delivery of specifications to partner teams. It is an opportunity to work at the intersection of Controllership, Product, Engineering, financial platforms, R2R, Tax, and regulatory teams.
YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR
- Assess the accounting feasibility and regulatory requirements of new products and features.
- Identify impacts on accounting accounts, financial flows, entities, events, systems, and regulatory reports.
- Define and document the end-to-end accounting flow, including events, debits, credits, recognition timing, and integrations.
- Prepare and maintain Accounting Specifications, Rulebooks, scenario simulations, Accounting Memos, and decision records.
- Define, request, or review accounting accounts and their mappings when necessary.
- Assess impacts on regulatory reports and support the definition of the required logic, data, and controls.
- Participate in accounting tests and validate consistency across product transactions, the ledger, the ERP, and regulatory reports.
- Identify accounting, regulatory, audit, and implementation risks that may affect product launches.
- Work with Product, Engineering, Finance Platform, R2R, FAR, GPA, Tax, FP&A, Legal, and other partner teams to resolve questions and dependencies.
- Follow up on automation gaps and technical debt, ensuring that any manual activities have appropriate documentation, data, and controls.
- Maintain complete, traceable, and up-to-date documentation throughout the product lifecycle.
- Support audit inquiries and requests from regulatory authorities related to specifications owned by the team.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WHO HAS
- Experience in accounting, controllership, financial products, regulatory reporting, or related areas.
- Knowledge of applicable accounting principles, including IFRS and/or Brazilian GAAP.
- Ability to interpret operations and translate them into accounting rules, data flows, and implementation requirements.
- Strong written and verbal communication in English
- Analytical mindset, with strong attention to detail and the ability to investigate complex scenarios.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to document decisions and align with technical and business teams.
- Ability to work autonomously, organize priorities, and drive topics end to end.
- Interest or experience working with systems, data, ledgers, ERPs, automation, and accounting close processes.
- Ability to collaborate in a multidisciplinary and fast-changing environment.
