About Capalo AI
At Capalo AI, we are accelerating the green energy transition by maximizing the value of large-scale energy storage systems through artificial intelligence and optimization. Our platform, Capalo Zeus VPP™, operates battery energy storage systems as a virtual power plant, helping asset owners generate higher revenues while supporting a more resilient and sustainable energy grid.
The Role
As our first Origination Manager in Poland, you will turn short-term optimization and trading of BESS and hybrid assets into long-term contracted, bankable revenue: tolling, floors, vPPAs and route-to-market agreements in cooperation with third parties.
You will structure and price these deals alongside our offtake partners, then own the relationships on all sides of the deal.
Key Responsibilities
- Originate offtaker pipeline across Poland and own the fixed-revenue counterparty relationships.
- Build coverage of Polish asset owners, developers and IPPs alongside the team.
- Structure tripartite deals between the asset owner, the offtaker and Capalo AI, articulating Capalo's value to each side of the table, and own the deal from first conversations through term sheet and negotiation to the contractual close.
- Develop structures the market does not offer yet.
- Contribute to Capalo AI's long-term market view for Poland and beyond.
- Represent Capalo AI at industry events across the region and grow its reputation in the local market.
What We're Looking For
Must-haves
- Experience originating and negotiating route-to-market agreements for renewable power or storage assets, plus structuring at least one of: PPAs, financially settled structures (vPPA, CfD, swap), floors or tolling.
- A commercial, sales-driven mindset paired with the analytical rigor to price, evaluate and compare deal structures.
- Fluent English and Polish.
- Willingness to travel within Poland and occasionally to the Helsinki office.
Nice-to-haves
- Understanding of how a battery earns across day-ahead, intraday, balancing and ancillary markets.
- Direct experience with project finance for renewable or storage assets.
- An existing counterparty network among Polish asset owners, developers, IPPs or offtakers.
- Comfortable in a fast-moving startup and with modern software, cloud and AI tools.
