Position overview
Xapo Bank is establishing a Structured Solutions function to own and expand its product offering, spanning yield products, tokenisation, asset-backed lending (ABL) workstreams, and new structures at the intersection of digital assets and traditional finance.
As Head of Structured Solutions, you will take ownership of an established, revenue-generating credit fund and the counterparty relationships that sit behind it, while setting the strategic direction for what we build next. You will report directly to the CFO, own the house view on structured product strategy, act as the primary interface with our external licensed Investment Manager and the Investment Committee, and have the mandate and budget to grow the team as the function scales.
This is a rare combination: a live book with existing counterparties, an established governance process, and dedicated analyst support from day one, alongside genuine authority to shape what Xapo Bank's structured product offering becomes and to build the team you need to deliver it. You will have a structured transition period working alongside experienced outgoing team members to absorb institutional knowledge, models, data, and counterparty context.
Credit judgement is central to this role, not a supporting activity. Counterparty selection, due diligence and ongoing monitoring are how the credit fund is managed day to day, so we need someone whose underwriting is as strong as their structuring, as credible assessing a counterparty as they are designing a payoff profile, with the judgement to walk away from a deal that prices well but underwrites badly.
In your first 12 months you will:

• Take full ownership of the fund and its counterparty relationships, completing the knowledge transfer from the outgoing team.

• Establish your operating rhythm with the Investment Committee and the licensed Investment Manager.

• Set out the forward roadmap for Xapo's structured product offering and the resourcing to deliver it.

Responsibilities
Strategy and product:

• Set the strategic direction and house view for structured investment solutions, identifying and designing new structured products for the Xapo client base.

• Lead delivery of yield products, tokenisation initiatives, Bitcoin Backed Loans, and other new structures from concept through to launch, from payoff profile through to delivery mechanism, including regulatory consequences.

• Responsible for driving Xapo's internal investment committee, a monthly forum with the CEO, CFO, and Head of Product, on new ideas, products, and structures.

Credit, due diligence, and risk:
FUND

• Own comprehensive initial due diligence on prospective counterparties and ongoing due diligence on existing ones, covering counterparty financial analysis, business processes, and risk evaluation.

• Produce credit assessments in a standardised, committee-ready format suitable for review by the licensed Investment Manager and the Investment Committee.

• Maintain ongoing credit risk oversight of the book, ensuring positions are managed appropriately and the fund operates within its mandate at all times.

• Set, monitor, and enforce exposure, concentration, and limit frameworks, escalating breaches and emerging risks promptly.

XAPO
· Work alongside the Risk function on price risk and credit risk evaluation, system requirements, and regulatory consequences.
Fund Origination, execution, and relationships:

• Identify and originate new counterparties for the fund to lend to.

• Prepare and present due diligence and lending proposals through the Investment Committee, owning the quality and rigour of the committee process.

• Support Legal in negotiating the fund's standard documentation with counterparties through to close.

• Maintain and evolve counterparty relationships across the life of each facility, keeping engagement current across all commercial and operational matters.

Fund operations and stakeholder management:

• Act as the primary point of engagement with the external licensed Investment Manager on regulated fund management activity, maintaining constant contact.

• Oversee fund operations and accounting, liaising with the fund administrator and fund accountant to ensure NAV is struck correctly and resolving operational issues as they arise.

• Support Xapo Operations and the fund accountant on reconciliation, ensuring everything matches correctly.

• Allocate coin and capital inflows arising from investors sourced by Xapo.

• Represent the fund internally, keeping the wider Xapo organisation informed on positioning, activity, and performance.

Treasury and banking input:

• Work closely with Treasury, providing advisory input across risk evaluation, trading and execution, and system requirements.

• Contribute banking input on ALCO, stress testing, and pricing.

Team and knowledge:

• Build, manage, and develop the Structured Solutions team, mentoring junior analysts and expanding the bench as the function grows — you will have the mandate to shape the team's size and shape over time.

• Enable the team: surface and resolve blockers quickly, run regular one-to-ones, and take ownership of team wellbeing.

• Represent the team within Xapo, articulating what it needs and keeping the organisation informed.

• Ensure institutional knowledge is documented and durable, contributing to and maintaining the investment team knowledge portal so that the function is not dependent on any single individual.

• Act as an internal reference point for technical, market, and crypto-ecosystem questions, contributing to projects across the business where relevant.

• During the initial transition period, work alongside outgoing senior team members to absorb institutional knowledge, models, data, and counterparty context.

Skills needed

• Substantial experience in investment management, structured products, or digital asset markets, including senior ownership of a product, credit, or trading function.

• Demonstrable credit underwriting and counterparty risk experience, ideally including unsecured lending, with the judgement to say no to a deal that prices well but underwrites badly.

• The ability to diligence both sides of the market: regulated financial institutions using audited financials, capital position, and covenant analysis; and crypto-native counterparties, including the limitations of proof-of-reserves, custody and rehypothecation risk, venue and exchange exposure, on-chain analysis, and opaque cross-jurisdictional group structures.

• Strong quantitative capability and comfort building or overseeing pricing, risk, and structuring models.

• A track record of designing and launching new financial products, ideally spanning yield, lending, or tokenisation.

• Experience operating through formal governance processes such as investment committees, with the judgement to know when to escalate.

• Demonstrated people leadership: building teams, developing junior talent, and setting a clear technical and strategic direction.

• Familiarity with both Bitcoin and traditional fiat markets, and genuine interest in where digital assets and structured finance intersect.

• Excellent stakeholder management skills, comfortable engaging with external investment managers, counterparties, and internal committees alike.

Nice to have:

• Exposure to regulated fund structures and working alongside a licensed external investment manager.

• Experience with fund operations, including fund administrators, fund accountants, and the NAV process.

• Existing relationships within digital asset counterparty or institutional investor networks.

• Prior experience standing up or scaling a new team or function within a fintech, bank, or asset manager.

• Balance sheet and treasury experience, including ALCO, stress testing, and pricing within a regulated credit institution.

• Experience taking over an existing book and making it your own, rather than only building from a blank page.
