JOB OVERVIEW:
An experienced Senior Software Engineer who builds and ships production-grade distributed systems. This is a hands-on delivery role. You will work within an established architecture, own your features end to end, and solve complex engineering problems as part of a strong team. Ideal for someone who wants to write code and deliver, not manage or set direction.
DESCRIPTION OF POSITION:
Engineering & Delivery
- Design, build, test, and ship features and services within distributed systems built for scalability, resilience, and maintainability
- Own assigned work from design through to production, including deployment, monitoring, and support
- Debug and resolve complex technical issues across services and environments
- Write clean, well-tested, well-documented code that follows the team's engineering standards
Collaboration & Technical Contribution
- Contribute to design and architecture discussions with practical input on trade-offs and constraints
- Take part in code reviews, both giving and receiving feedback
- Work closely with product and engineering teams to break down requirements and deliver against the roadmap
- Flag technical risks and suggest improvements to tooling, frameworks, or workflows where relevant
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
- Strong experience with modern cloud environments such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure
- Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation
- Proficiency in at least one backend or systems-focused language such as Go, Rust, Java, or Python
- Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly through documentation and collaboration with teammates
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- 7+ years of software engineering experience
- Proven experience building and running large-scale distributed systems in production, including:
- Microservices architectures
- Event-driven systems
- Cloud-native platforms
ADVANTAGEOUS SKILLS:
- Experience working in high-availability or regulated environments (e.g., fintech, healthcare, IoT platforms)
- Familiarity with observability frameworks, platform security design, and DevOps practices
- Experience contributing to major platform upgrades, migrations, or modernization initiatives
- Exposure to Python-based web frameworks, specifically Django
