GeneralDescription:
The Director, Technology Business Management is responsible for establishing and leading BeOne’s financial management, consumption strategy, cost transparency, and value optimization capability across foundational technology services. This includes public cloud, data centers, network, compute, storage, observability, backup and recovery, managed services, infrastructure platforms, software tooling, and related technology services.
This role partners with Infrastructure, Cloud Engineering, Network, Enterprise Architecture, Cybersecurity, Finance, Procurement, Data, AI, Application, and Business Technology teams to improve technology cost visibility, optimize consumption, strengthen financial accountability, and align infrastructure investment with business value. The Director will lead the development of Technology Business Management and FinOps practices, including forecasting, budgeting, showback/chargeback, cost allocation, unit economics, vendor commitment management, cost optimization, consumption governance, and executive reporting.
EssentialFunctionsoftheJob:
Technology Business Management & Financial Governance
- Establish and lead a Technology Business Management and FinOps operating model across foundational technology services.
- Develop financial governance practices for cloud, data centers, network, compute, storage, observability, backup, managed services, and infrastructure platforms.
- Partner with Finance and Technology leaders to create budgets, forecasts, variance reporting, and financial performance reviews.
- Define and manage showback, chargeback, cost allocation, and cost transparency models for major technology services and business consumers.
- Establish standards for cost center mapping, service taxonomy, tagging, metadata, account/subscription structure, and allocation methodology.
- Build executive-level reporting for technology spend, consumption trends, savings opportunities, forecast risks, and investment tradeoffs.
- Drive accountability for technology consumption across platform, application, data, AI, business, and regional teams.
Infrastructure Consumption Strategy & Cost Optimization
- Develop consumption strategies that balance cost, performance, reliability, security, compliance, and speed of delivery.
- Identify and lead optimization opportunities across cloud, data centers, network circuits, compute, storage, databases, observability, backup, AI/HPC, and managed services.
- Partner with engineering teams to implement automated rightsizing, scheduling, cleanup, lifecycle management, capacity planning, and demand management.
- Manage cloud and infrastructure commercial levers, including savings plans, reserved instances, committed use discounts, enterprise agreements, software licensing, vendor commitments, and service-provider optimization.
- Support vendor negotiations by providing consumption analytics, forecast modeling, benchmark analysis, scenario planning, and commitment recommendations.
- Establish workload-level and service-level unit economics to help technology and business leaders understand cost-to-serve.
- Develop policies and guardrails to reduce waste, prevent cost leakage, and improve financial discipline across infrastructure platforms.
Cloud FinOps
- Lead the FinOps capability across public cloud platforms, including AWS, Azure, GCP, and related cloud-native services.
- Establish cloud cost visibility, tagging compliance, budget controls, anomaly detection, cost optimization backlog management, and savings realization tracking.
- Partner with Cloud Platform Engineering to embed cost controls into landing zones, infrastructure-as-code modules, deployment pipelines, and platform guardrails.
- Support cost-aware architecture patterns for cloud-native applications, data platforms, AI/ML workloads, databases, network egress, storage tiers, and observability services.
- Provide guidance on cloud account/subscription structure, cost allocation, shared services, commitment coverage, and workload economics.
- Develop dashboards and reporting that make cloud cost, utilization, waste, and optimization opportunities visible to engineering and leadership teams.
Datacenter, Network, & Foundational Infrastructure Economics
- Establish cost management practices for data center hosting, colocation, compute, storage, backup, disaster recovery, monitoring, and infrastructure tooling.
- Partner with Network Engineering to manage telecom, WAN, SD-WAN, internet, private connectivity, cloud connectivity, and network service costs.
- Support data center and hosting strategy decisions through financial modeling, total cost of ownership analysis, lifecycle planning, and consumption forecasting.
- Partner with infrastructure operations to evaluate managed service provider costs, service levels, demand patterns, and operational efficiency.
- Develop standard service-cost models for foundational infrastructure capabilities.
- Identify opportunities to rationalize platforms, reduce duplicate tooling, retire unused services, and improve vendor value realization.
Planning, Analytics, & Executive Reporting
- Build financial models, consumption forecasts, cost baselines, and scenario plans to support annual operating planning and strategic investment decisions.
- Provide monthly and quarterly executive reporting on technology consumption, optimization progress, savings realization, forecast accuracy, and investment risks.
- Track realized savings, avoided costs, cost optimization backlog, unit-cost trends, vendor commitment utilization, and consumption risks.
- Develop KPIs and scorecards for financial performance, forecast accuracy, allocation quality, tagging compliance, utilization, optimization, and value realization.
- Translate complex technical consumption patterns into clear financial and operational insights for senior leadership.
- Support business cases for cloud migration, data center modernization, platform automation, network transformation, resilience investment, and AI/data platform expansion.
Governance, Process, & Continuous Improvement
- Define processes, roles, decision rights, governance forums, and escalation paths for Technology Business Management and FinOps.
- Establish recurring cost and consumption review cadences with infrastructure, cloud, network, application, data, AI, finance, procurement, and business stakeholders.
- Develop standards, playbooks, and procedures for cost reviews, budget alerts, anomaly detection, optimization intake, savings validation, commitment management, and cost allocation.
- Promote a culture of cost awareness, financial accountability, and continuous improvement across engineering and technology teams.
- Evaluate and implement TBM, FinOps, cost management, reporting, and automation tools as needed.
- Monitor industry practices, cloud provider capabilities, infrastructure economics trends, and emerging technology financial management practices to continuously mature BeOne’s capabilities.
SupervisoryResponsibilities:
- Team Leadership: Lead and develop a Technology Business Management and FinOps team responsible for cost management, consumption analytics, optimization execution, financial governance, and executive reporting.
- Recruitment and Onboarding: Support recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and role clarity for team members.
- Task Assignment: Assign work based on business priorities, team capacity, financial impact, technical complexity, and stakeholder needs.
- Support and Resource Provision: Ensure team members have the tools, data access, training, documentation, and stakeholder support required to perform effectively.
- Communication and Collaboration: Promote strong collaboration across Infrastructure, Cloud Engineering, Network, Finance, Procurement, Cybersecurity, Enterprise Architecture, Application, Data, AI, and Business Technology teams.
- Performance Evaluation: Conduct regular performance discussions, provide constructive feedback, and measure team outcomes against agreed objectives.
- Mentoring and Development: Coach team members in TBM, FinOps, infrastructure economics, analytics, stakeholder management, executive communication, and financial governance.
- Issue Resolution: Resolve prioritization, data quality, process, stakeholder alignment, and accountability issues promptly and constructively.
- Career Development Support: Support professional development, certifications, and career growth for team members.
Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, and financial reporting tools. Advanced Excel, data analysis, dashboarding, and executive reporting skills required. Experience with tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Apptio, Cloudability, CloudHealth, Flexera, ServiceNow, AWS Cost Explorer, AWS Cost and Usage Reports, Azure Cost Management, Google Cloud Billing, Datadog Cloud Cost Management, native cloud billing tools, or equivalent platforms preferred.
EducationRequired:
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Data Analytics, or a related discipline. Advanced degree preferred.
OtherQualifications:
- Fluent in written and verbal English.
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in technology, infrastructure, cloud operations, finance, procurement, analytics, technology business management, or related functions.
- Minimum 5 years of experience with cloud financial management, infrastructure cost management, technology consumption governance, or technology business management.
- FinOps Foundation certification, TBM certification, cloud provider certifications, ITIL, or equivalent professional certifications preferred.
- Experience leading TBM, FinOps, cloud cost management, infrastructure financial governance, IT finance, technology operations analytics, or related functions.
- Strong understanding of foundational technology services, including public cloud, data centers, network, compute, storage, backup, observability, managed services, and infrastructure platforms.
- Strong understanding of public cloud pricing models, including compute, storage, networking, database, observability, AI/ML, managed services, and enterprise commitment structures.
- Experience with AWS required; experience with Azure, GCP, multi-cloud, data center, and network cost management preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to partner with Finance, Procurement, Engineering, Cybersecurity, Enterprise Architecture, Application, Data, AI, and senior technology leadership.
- Strong analytical, financial modeling, communication, and executive presentation skills.
- Ability to translate complex technical consumption patterns into business, financial, and operational insights.
- Experience building dashboards, KPIs, governance processes, executive reporting, and business cases.
- Understanding of infrastructure architecture, cloud operating models, DevOps, infrastructure-as-code, platform engineering, network architecture, service management, and vendor management.
- Experience in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, life sciences, healthcare, or other regulated industries preferred.
- Familiarity with the FinOps Framework, Technology Business Management practices, IT service costing, cost allocation, and financial governance preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to influence without direct authority across global, cross-functional teams.

Salary Range Poland: 364,200.00 PLN - 455,200.00 PLN
