Overview
The Senior Manager, Audit Manager Training leads the design, delivery, and continuous improvement of training and capability-building programs for audit managers and quality audit staff across CCV. This leader owns the curriculum that prepares auditors and audit managers to apply audit guidelines accurately and consistently, including training on AI-supported review tools, human-in-the-loop workflows, and the judgment required to validate AI-assisted findings. The role partners closely with Quality Audit Operations, concept development, machine learning and strategic analytics, and client service teams to translate evolving audit guidelines, quality findings, and emerging AI capabilities into effective, measurable training that improves accuracy, consistency, and readiness across the audit workforce. This role is expected to move beyond delivering training sessions to proactively identify skill and knowledge gaps, close them through targeted learning interventions, and confirm sustained improvement in audit performance. The Senior Manager serves as a business partner to audit operations leadership while fostering alignment among key stakeholders across CCV operations, quality assurance, content development, and technology teams.
Responsibilities
Audit Training Program Ownership

  • Owns and matures the audit training curriculum, including onboarding, ongoing certification, and advanced training paths for auditors.
  • Designs, delivers, and evaluates training on audit guidelines, sampling methodology, and quality standards, ensuring content stays current as guidelines evolve.
  • Develops and maintains training on AI-supported audit workflows, including how to validate AI-generated findings, recognize accuracy drift or exceptions, and apply human-in-the-loop review controls.
  • Partners consultatively with quality audit operations, analytics, technology, and content teams to translate quality findings and root cause analysis into targeted training interventions.
  • Builds and executes training remediation plans for identified skill or knowledge gaps, including scope, timelines, measurable success criteria, and follow-up assessment.
  • Ensures new or updated audit guidelines and AI-supported workflow changes are supported by structured rollout training, job aids, and post-implementation reinforcement.
  • Champions innovation in learning delivery, including the responsible use of generative AI tools to personalize training, accelerate onboarding, and improve knowledge retention.
  • Establishes training effectiveness metrics (e.g., assessment scores, time-to-proficiency, post-training accuracy) and reports outcomes to audit operations leadership.
  • Communicates training performance, emerging skill gaps, and remediation progress clearly to senior leadership with appropriate urgency and action orientation.

Relationship Management

  • Maintains professional relationships across audit operations, quality assurance, and the broader audit enterprise. Identifies opportunities to expand training initiatives to create measurable value for internal teams and clients.
  • Communicates training opportunities and outcomes to Cotiviti leadership.
  • Establishes reporting and insights on training program performance using metrics that matter.

Productivity Management

  • Ensures that training delivery goals and certification timelines are consistently met or exceeded. Removes roadblocks to effective learning.
  • Monitors trainer and facilitator coverage, redistributing work as necessary to achieve set targets.
  • Promptly addresses and resolves issues impacting training delivery and completion rates.
  • Builds trust, respect, and engagement through communication and positive reinforcement to create a tradition of maintaining and exceeding internal expectations.
  • Strives to continuously Build Better.

Leadership

  • Provides People Obsessed leadership by communicating expectations and future goals. Motivates trainers and instructional staff using a combination of individual, team, and department recognition.
  • Responsible for the operationalization of new training programs and initiatives, executed in collaboration with internal stakeholders including but not limited to the CCV Operations and Quality Audit teams, content teams, and the Client Service team.
  • Works closely with the quality audit team to ensure training reinforces and aligns with current audit guidelines and quality standards.
  • Works closely with teams responsible for developing clinical, coding, and quality-related content to keep training materials accurate and current.
  • Facilitates execution of new training concept development and maintenance of existing training curricula within learning management tools, and provides program oversight.

Project Management

  • Manages expectations of internal stakeholders via clear communication with audit operations leadership and business unit leadership.
  • Grasps internal operational cycles and processes as well as their impact upon training delivery.
  • Understands project scope, schedule, and resources for training initiatives.
  • Anticipates disconnects and identifies solutions.
  • Maintains a Deeply Curious mindset to follow training initiatives through to results and document improvement.

  • Hire, develop, coach, lead, and retain top-tier training talent, with a focus on building and improving a team and culture that supports high levels of internal and external customer satisfaction.

Qualifications
Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in related field required; Bachelor's degree with a training, instructional design, quality, or healthcare focus preferred — may also include education, organizational development, or a clinical/coding discipline.
  • 3+ years of technical leadership experience: people and projects, with prior experience in a training, learning and development, or quality audit role.
  • Preferred: Active Registered Nursing license.
  • Preferred: Active Coding Credential.
  • AI-native experience using generative AI applications such as Claude, Microsoft Copilot, or similar tools to design training content, improve workflow efficiency, communication, and decision support.
  • AI accuracy mindset: understanding of validation, exception review, quality drift, and human-in-the-loop controls, with the ability to translate these into effective training content and measurable accuracy improvement.
  • Instructional design skill: able to translate audit guidelines, quality findings, and workflow changes into clear, engaging, and measurable training curricula.
  • Consultative influence: uses data and business context to influence teams and drive adoption of training and process changes without creating defensiveness.
  • Proven experience influencing behavior, reinforcing expectations, and driving adoption of process, quality, or performance improvements across audit teams.
  • Remediation execution: builds practical training remediation plans with clear owners, milestones, measurable success criteria, and follow-through.
  • Executive communication: able to communicate training outcomes, skill gaps, and program performance in a concise, balanced, and leadership-ready manner.
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel (Pivot Tables, Macros, VLOOKUPs, queries, advanced written formulas).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
  • Organizational skills.

  • Desire and capacity to learn new concepts and software.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Experience in a HIPAA-regulated environment.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with instructional design frameworks (e.g., ADDIE, Kirkpatrick evaluation model) or quality methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean, or CAPA) is a plus.
  • Experience developing or maintaining audit training programs, certification pathways, or learning management systems is a plus.
  • Knowledge of medical reimbursement/payment policies, audit review methodologies, and medical terminology is a plus.

Base compensation ranges from $122,000 to $147,000 per year. Specific offers are determined by various factors, such as experience, education, skills, certifications, and other business needs. This role is eligible for discretionary bonus consideration.
