Position Summary
This is a 1099 independent contractor opportunity for experienced Independent Freight Agents operating under Ascent’s brokerage authority.
Key Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities
- Build customer relationships and secure freight opportunities
- Source and qualify carriers using Ascent’s systems and tools
- Negotiate rates and handle required shipment documentation
- Manage shipments through the full lifecycle from booking to delivery
- Resolve service issues through proactive communication
- Maintain accurate system records and follow company compliance standards
What You’ll Bring
· Active, transferable book of business required
· Must reside and operate in the United States
· Strong knowledge of carrier operations, dispatching, and rate negotiation
· Experience with TMS platforms and load boards such as DAT and Truckstop
