The University of Miami has an exciting opportunity for a Senior LMS Administrator. The Senior LMS Administrator functions as a strategic individual contributor with enterprise platform ownership, advanced technical responsibilities, and significant institutional impact. The role's scope, complexity, decision-making authority, and business influence support classification at the Senior level.
Core Job Summary:
The Sr. LMS Administrator performs core Learning Management System (LMS) administration responsibilities while supporting and executing enterprise LMS priorities, governance, scalability, and platform optimization. The incumbent maintains accountability for reliable day-to-day LMS operations, including user, content, enrollment, reporting, troubleshooting, and support activities. This role serves as a senior subject matter expert for complex configurations, integrations, analytics, risk mitigation, and adoption strategies.
Core Job Functions:
1. Performs and oversees core LMS administration activities while supporting platform performance, scalability, configuration health, adoption, and optimization aligned to enterprise learning priorities.
2. Manages user accounts, roles, permissions, access levels, and data accuracy while supporting complex hierarchies, role-based security models, and integration points to enable secure access.
3. Uploads, organizes, maintains, and governs courses, learning modules, assessments, and training materials while supporting content standards and quality controls across enterprise programs.
4. Configures LMS settings, branding, notifications, learning pathways, reports, automation rules, and advanced platform features to drive operational efficiency.
5. Partners with IT and vendors on single sign-on, APIs, third-party tools, learning content standards, integrations, testing, and long-term configuration improvements.
6. Generates and enhances reports on learning activity, completion, compliance, performance, and platform usage to track overall organizational engagement.
7. Develops dashboards and reporting frameworks that provide actionable insights, trends, recommendations, and executive-level visibility into learning effectiveness and business impact.
8. Leads advanced troubleshooting for access, course, system, integration, and platform issues while resolving high-impact technical problems.
9. Supports system testing, identifies operational and compliance risks, and executes mitigation plans to strengthen LMS reliability and user experience.
10. Designs and delivers training sessions, job aids, office hours, and enablement materials for administrators, trainers, learners, and business partners.
11. Mentors LMS support roles and builds technical capabilities across the broader organizational LMS community.
12. Partners with HR, Talent, IT, Compliance, and business stakeholders to align learning technology capabilities with evolving business requirements.
13. Supports LMS governance models, roadmap execution, product adoption, and vendor engagement to maximize platform value.
14. Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.
