Leidos is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to support the U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) CG-TECH-TRT/DME (Technical Readiness Transformation) (Digital Modeling and Engineering )U.S. Coast Guard CG-TECH-TRT organization in executing enterprise digital transformation, systems modernization, and automation initiatives supporting Force Design 2028 objectives. The Senior Systems Engineer will provide technical leadership, systems engineering expertise, and integration support across enterprise transformation activities, automation pilots, digital engineering initiatives, and modernization efforts within the CGOne environment. The role will support planning, coordination, analysis, implementation, and governance activities associated with Coast Guard enterprise technology modernization and mission enablement initiatives.
This individual will work closely with Coast Guard leadership, program managers, enterprise architects, developers, cybersecurity teams, and mission stakeholders to define technical requirements, evaluate solutions, and ensure alignment between operational needs and enterprise engineering objectives.
Primary Responsibilities
- Provide systems engineering support for Coast Guard digital transformation and automation initiatives.
- Analyze operational requirements and develop technical recommendations supporting enterprise modernization objectives.
- Support systems integration, requirements management, architecture development, and solution engineering activities.
- Develop systems engineering artifacts including CONOPS, requirements documentation, interface definitions, workflows, and technical assessments.
- Support automation pilot evaluations, feasibility assessments, and implementation planning.
- Translate operational requirements and concepts of operations into traceable UAFML model artifacts that support digital engineering, modernization, and architecture decision-making.
- Build and maintain enterprise and system architecture models in Cameo Enterprise Architecture, including diagrams, elements, and views, while executing model queries, validation checks, and trade studies to inform engineering decisions.
- Coordinate with cloud, cybersecurity, data, and application development teams to support scalable enterprise solutions.
- Participate in governance boards, technical reviews, stakeholder meetings, and program status briefings.
- Support enterprise architecture alignment and integration activities across multiple Coast Guard mission systems and platforms.
- Assist in identifying opportunities for process automation, workflow optimization, and operational efficiencies.
- Support development of technical roadmaps, migration plans, and implementation strategies.
- Monitor project risks, dependencies, technical issues, and integration impacts across initiatives.
- Contribute to continuous improvement efforts, technical standards development, and operational readiness planning.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline and 8-10 yrs or 6-10 years w/Masters of related experience. Additional experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
- Experience supporting complex federal IT, systems engineering, or modernization programs.
- Experience with systems integration, enterprise architecture, or digital transformation initiatives.
- Familiarity with systems engineering lifecycle processes and requirements management practices.
- OMG Certified Systems Modeling Professional (OCSMP) Model Builder.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- U.S. Citizenship required.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DHS Public Trust.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting DHS or U.S. Coast Guard programs.
- Familiarity with cloud technologies (AWS/Azure), ServiceNow, Salesforce, or enterprise automation platforms.
- Knowledge of enterprise integration, digital engineering, and automation governance practices.
- Experience with MBSE, SysML, BPMN, or enterprise architecture frameworks.

Pay Range:
Pay Range $107,900.00 - $195,050.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
