Termgrid is rewriting the rules of private capital markets. We built the category-defining operating system for deal professionals — the platform where the world's most sophisticated private equity sponsors, lenders, and advisors manage every stage of their financing workflows.
Founded in 2019 by Dipish Rai (Harvard MBA, IIT, Columbia; ex-Providence Equity) and Vishal Singh (Columbia MS CS; ex-CTO Link3D, acquired by Nasdaq: MTLS), Termgrid has achieved what few fintech companies dream of: 4 of the top 5 global private equity firms trust us as their core technology partner. 1600+ institutions. 30,000+ professionals.
We've been named New Solution Provider of the Year at the PE Wire US Awards 2024, Secure Workflow Management Provider of the Year at the PE Wire US Awards 2025, and shortlisted for the PE Wire EU Awards 2026 and The Drawdown Awards 2025. This isn't a company finding its footing — this is a rocket that has already cleared the launchpad.
The $1.7 trillion private credit market is growing at breakneck speed. Every billion-dollar deal, every GP-LP relationship, every leveraged buyout in the pipeline is moving through workflows that were built for a different era. Termgrid is the platform that changes all of that — and we're just getting started.
About the Role
As our Engineering Manager, you'll sit at the intersection of people, product, and process. You won't just manage engineers — you'll cultivate careers, drive technical culture, and partner with product and design to ship software that handles the demands of the most demanding industry in the world. You'll report directly to the CTO and have meaningful influence over how we build for the next decade.
What You’ll Do
- Lead, mentor, and grow a team of 6–12 software engineers across frontend, backend, and platform — fostering a culture of craft, accountability, and psychological safety.
- Own the engineering delivery pipeline: sprint planning, roadmap alignment, dependency mapping, and stakeholder communication — ensuring commitments are met without burning out the team.
- Partner closely with product, design, and data teams to translate complex financial workflows into well-scoped engineering problems, and back again into polished product experiences.
- Drive hiring decisions: sourcing, evaluating, and onboarding exceptional engineers who raise the bar for the entire team.
- Establish and champion engineering best practices — code review standards, testing culture, incident response, on-call health, and documentation quality.
- Identify and resolve bottlenecks in architecture, process, or team dynamics — escalating technical risk with clarity and proposing actionable paths forward.
- Conduct regular 1:1s, performance reviews, and career development conversations that keep your engineers growing and engaged.
- Represent engineering in cross-functional leadership forums — bridging the gap between what's technically possible and what the business needs to move.
What We’re Looking For
- 8+ years in software engineering, with at least 2 years in an engineering management or tech lead role at a product-driven company.
- Hands-on background in backend or full-stack development — you understand tradeoffs in system design and can engage credibly in technical discussions.
- Track record of growing engineers, navigating performance challenges, and building teams that consistently ship quality software under pressure.
- Comfortable in a fast-moving startup environment. You balance moving fast with building systems that scale — and you know when to do which.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication — from design docs to board updates, you tailor your message for every audience.
- Experience in fintech, capital markets, or enterprise SaaS. Familiarity with Java, TypeScript, or modern cloud-native stacks is a plus.
- Remote-friendly flexibility with a high-performance, async-first culture
- Work from home set up
