Hello. We’re Teya.
Teya was founded on a simple belief: local businesses deserve better.
They are the cafés, restaurants, salons, shops and entrepreneurs that bring character to our high streets, create jobs and keep communities moving. Yet for too long, financial services has made life harder for them - with clunky tools, poor support and complexity that gets in the way of running a business.
Teya exists to change that.
We’re building a financial platform for local businesses across Europe - one built around simple tools, thoughtful design and real human support. Our Members rely on us to help them run their business with confidence, and that responsibility shapes the way we work.
We move fast. We care about quality. We stay close to the detail. And we believe great performance and genuine hospitality should go hand in hand.
If you want to build meaningful products, solve real problems and make a genuine difference for local businesses, we’d love to hear from you
YOUR MISSION
As a Senior Accounts Payable Analyst, your mission is to ensure the integrity, efficiency and continuous improvement of Teya's Accounts Payable function.
You will act as a subject-matter expert across the end-to-end Purchase-to-Pay process, taking ownership of complex AP matters, supplier accounts, payment runs, month-end deliverables and AP controls.
You will work closely with Finance, Procurement, suppliers and wider business teams to resolve issues, improve P2P compliance and strengthen our processes. You will also play a key role in Finance projects, automation initiatives and the continued development of Teya's Finance Shared Services function.
This is a hands-on senior role with significant ownership and influence, where you will be expected to identify problems, challenge existing processes and drive improvements through to implementation.
YOUR ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
ACCOUNTS PAYABLE OPERATIONS
- Act as a subject-matter expert for the end-to-end Purchase-to-Pay cycle, handling the most complex, high-value and non-standard invoices, tax treatments and entity-specific cases.
- Own the integrity of the AP ledger, including supplier reconciliations, aged balances, duplicate invoices, blocked items and unmatched transactions.
- Investigate discrepancies and drive issues through to resolution, ensuring accurate and timely maintenance of supplier accounts.
- Own the payment run process, ensuring completeness, accuracy, appropriate authorisation, fraud controls and execution within agreed timelines.
- Contribute to prioritisation of the AP queue and workload, ensuring urgent, overdue and high-risk items are addressed within agreed service levels.
- Act as a senior point of contact for suppliers and internal stakeholders, handling escalations independently and applying sound commercial judgement.
- Partner with Procurement and business owners to improve P2P compliance, reduce invoice exceptions and strengthen upstream discipline.
MONTH-END & REPORTING
- Own AP deliverables for month-end close, including AP cut-off, accruals, GRNI and open-item reviews, reconciliations and reporting.
- Prepare and maintain AP reports, dashboards and reconciliations, highlighting risks, overdue items, process gaps and recommended actions.
- Present findings, risks and recommendations clearly to Finance management and non-Finance stakeholders.
- Support wider Finance Operations activities where required, including intercompany transactions, employee and corporate card reconciliations and expense processes.
CONTROLS, COMPLIANCE & AUDIT
- Maintain clear and complete AP processes, controls and procedures in line with audit, governance and internal control standards.
- Support the design and testing of AP controls, ensuring appropriate approvals, segregation of duties and fraud prevention measures are maintained.
- Act as a key contact for internal and external audit on AP matters, providing supporting documentation, explanations and follow-up actions.
- Identify control weaknesses and recurring issues, recommend practical solutions and ensure improvements are effectively embedded.
PROCESS IMPROVEMENT & PROJECTS
- Identify root causes of recurring AP exceptions and lead improvement initiatives end to end, from proposal through to implementation and embedded change.
- Represent AP in Finance projects, including system implementations, process migrations, entity integrations and automation initiatives.
- Contribute to requirements gathering, process design, testing, cutover and post-go-live stabilisation.
- Identify opportunities to simplify, standardise and automate AP processes while maintaining appropriate controls and service quality.
- Support the continued development of scalable, efficient and controlled Finance Shared Services processes.
TEAM SUPPORT & DEVELOPMENT
- Provide guidance, coaching and technical support to junior team members, helping raise consistency and quality across the team.
- Review work and provide constructive feedback, ensuring processes and controls are consistently followed.
- Act as a technical point of reference for complex AP queries and transactions.
- Share knowledge, best practices and process updates across the team.
- Support workload prioritisation and service delivery without formal line-management responsibility.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
