Do you spend your time online, understand how digital communities work, and know what it takes to keep conversations engaging, safe, and on track? Do you enjoy staying up to date with the latest trends, platforms, and online culture?
We’re looking for experienced Engagement Moderators to join our remote network. In this role, you’ll help monitor and manage social media feeds, respond to public inquiries, and identify and escalate issues to our internal and client security teams when needed.
This is a great opportunity for someone who understands social media, is comfortable working within established guidelines, and can confidently navigate fast-moving online environments.
As an Engagement Moderator, You Will:
- Use your experience in social media moderation, translation, and live engagement to support online communities.
- Monitor social media feeds and respond to public inquiries using established guidelines and pre-approved messaging.
- Follow evolving client rules, workflows, and moderation standards.
- Stay informed about relevant topics, trends, and information to effectively manage online interactions.
- Recognize and appropriately escalate potential security or safety concerns to the appropriate teams.
- Maintain a professional, thoughtful, and consistent approach when engaging with members of the online community.
Skills & Qualifications
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Comfortable across major social platforms and online communities.
- Background in social media, content moderation, community management, or Trust & Safety.
- Strong judgment with the ability to assess situations and know when to escalate.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow established guidelines.
- Quick to learn new tools, workflows, and policies.
- Comfortable engaging with diverse global communities.
- Confident in navigating multiple platforms and tools.
- Experience with social media tools such as Sprout Social, Conversocial, Sprinklr.
- Able to consistently follow detailed processes and client guidelines.
- Understands the importance of confidentiality and data security.
- Well-versed in internet culture and platform-specific language.
- Ability to identify and surface rising trends.
- Situational awareness to understand context clues and hidden meanings behind text.
- Natural, engaging communication style to connect with users with ease.
- Skills to demonstrate empathy and care in every interaction.
- Curiosity to seek solutions and identify next best steps that fit within established protocol.
- Gaming, fandom, creator, or other online community experience is a plus.
- Additional language skills are a plus.
Workspace Requirements:
- A dedicated laptop or desktop computer running Windows 11 or macOS Tahoe
- A stable broadband internet connection with a minimum download speed of 40 Mbps
- At least 8 GB of RAM
- Ability to install required security software and a 2FA authentication app on a mobile device
- Access to a webcam or smartphone capable of capturing clear photos
- A quality headset with a noise-canceling microphone
- A quiet, dedicated workspace suitable for phone-based customer support
- Dual monitors are strongly recommended to support multitasking and an efficient workflow
