Overview
Dane Street is seeking an experienced, licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our growing team of expert clinical reviewers. In this role, you will apply your specialized clinical knowledge and expertise in speech-language pathology to conduct comprehensive reviews of medical records, therapy documentation, treatment plans, and clinical assessments and provide objective, evidence-based advisory opinions.

Your primary responsibilities will include reviewing medical and therapy records, evaluating clinical documentation and treatment plans, preparing clear and concise clinical summaries, and responding to specific questions from clients related to speech-language pathology services, medical necessity, treatment appropriateness, and standards of care.
This role involves advisory medical record reviews only and does not involve peer-to-peer discussions, telephone calls, direct patient care, or treatment.
We are particularly seeking professionals with expertise in:

  • Assessment of medical necessity and appropriateness of speech-language pathology services
  • Evidence-based clinical decision-making and application of professional standards of care
  • Review of therapy plans, functional outcomes, and recommendations for continued treatment

Join a team that values clinical expertise, sound professional judgment, and objective analysis. Your expertise will play an important role in supporting high-quality, accurate, consistent, and defensible healthcare assessments.
Requirements

  • Master’s degree or higher in Speech-Language Pathology from an appropriately accredited academic program.
  • Current, active, and unrestricted Pennsylvania license to practice speech-language pathology.
  • Minimum of five years of clinical experience in speech-language pathology.
  • Experience reviewing clinical documentation, treatment plans, evaluations, and medical records.
  • Ability to attend all required orientation and training sessions.
  • Maintains appropriate credentialing, state licensure, and professional certifications required to perform the role.
  • Strong clinical judgment and the ability to communicate findings clearly, objectively, and concisely in written form.
  • Comfortable reviewing complex medical and therapy records and applying evidence-based clinical standards.
  • Familiarity with medical necessity criteria, clinical practice guidelines, and documentation requirements for speech-language pathology services.

Benefits

  • Independent contractor role offering schedule flexibility and control over workload.
  • Ability to select case types and workload based on your availability and areas of clinical expertise.
  • Fully remote work from Pennsylvania.
  • No peer-to-peer calls or discussions.
  • No direct patient care or treatment; all reviews are advisory in nature.
  • Streamlined case flow through a user-friendly online work portal.
  • Dane Street manages administrative processes, medical record organization, and client communications.
  • Organized medical records and applicable clinical guidelines provided for review.
  • Initial training provided, along with ongoing support and a dedicated point of contact.
  • Opportunity to leverage your speech-language pathology expertise outside of traditional clinical practice.
