Senior Backend Engineer - Payment Systems

CodeDecoders is looking for a Senior Backend Engineer with hands-on experience building real payment and transaction systems.
We are currently delivering a regulated cross-border digital asset platform involving remittances, payouts, settlements, transaction processing, banking and payment-provider integrations, wallets, KYC/KYB integrations, reconciliation, and operational tooling.
This is not a role focused on simple checkout integrations. We are looking for engineers who have dealt with real-money transaction states, idempotency, retries, duplicate prevention, provider timeouts, unknown transaction statuses, reconciliation, refunds/reversals, settlement workflows, and production incidents involving financial transactions.
You will work closely with the product and engineering team and own backend modules end-to-end, including architecture, database design, implementation, integrations, testing, and production reliability.
Our primary backend stack is Node.js, TypeScript, Express/NestJS, PostgreSQL, Redis, and AWS. Strong payment-system experience matters more to us than matching every technology. Engineers coming from Java/Spring Boot, Python, or .NET are also welcome if they have meaningful payment, banking, wallet, ledger, remittance, lending, crypto/stablecoin, or transaction-processing experience.
We particularly value engineers who can explain how they have designed transactions, balances, ledger entries, settlements, reconciliation processes, and safe failure recovery in production.
For Himalayas candidates, we are open to remote contract/freelance engagements.
