Ecosia is the search engine that puts its profits towards climate action. We use the power of the internet to fund tree planting, ecosystem restoration, digital sovereignty, and other solutions to the climate crisis, while building a better, more sustainable web.
As a social media manager with about 2 years of experience, you’ll join our growing social team of 5, working closely with 3 creatives and the wider 11-person marketing team. Your first project will be getting to know our brand, audiences, and channels before taking on more responsibility for creating and producing your own social content. You’ll help turn everything from tree-planting footage, big climate stories, and tech/product news into content that people actually want to see and share.
**Please note this is a 1-year contract, covering a sabbatical leave.**

- Create and publish content across Ecosia’s social channels, from writing captions and adapting creative assets to developing original content ideas.
- Help shape and manage our social calendar, ensuring our channels are active, consistent, and responsive to what’s happening in the world.
- Work closely with our social and creative teams to turn ideas and raw assets into engaging, effective content.
- Build relationships with our community by responding to users across social and our email help line, escalating product issues and bringing user feedback back to the team.
- Experiment, learn and grow: use social trends, audience insights and performance data to improve your work and develop your understanding of brand social strategy.
### **YOUR AREAS OF KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:**
- You’re fluent in social media, with a deep understanding of what works across platforms and an instinct for trends, formats and social aesthetics.
- You have experience developing content ideas and working with creatives to bring them to life.
- You’re organised and comfortable managing a social calendar, publishing schedule and multiple channels at once.
- You have a well-developed sense of brand, tone and voice, with advanced English copywriting skills.
- You’re curious, collaborative and open to testing new ideas, learning from performance and changing course when something isn’t working.
- You care about climate and environmental issues and are interested in the role brands can play in creating positive change.

### **How many people work at Ecosia?**
About 100! Our departments include Engineering, Product, Marketing, Trees, People, and Operations.
Our eng & product teams work in a cross-functional set-up, forming 7 teams.
### **Where is Ecosia based, and what kind of work setup do we have?**
We are a **remote-friendly** company with one office in Berlin-Wedding. People come to the office or work from home as per their wishes and/or circumstances. Some roles require presence in the office at least from time to time.
### **Can I apply if I want to work remotely?**
Please note that in order for us to consider you for a remote EOR candidacy, you should be based in a CE(S)T +/- 2 hours location due to our core hours and ways of working.
Even then, not every location is possible due to our operational restrictions. If your location fits the first paragraph, apply, and the talent partner will be in touch.
