Federated Co-operatives Limited (FCL) is hiring a Senior HR Business Analyst/Trainer on a contract basis for our HR Transformation implementation program to help deliver software and systems training. This position is a remote opportunity and can be based across Western Canada.

If you value collaboration, have a high attention to detail and thrive in a fast-paced environment, this is an opportunity for you to shine!

What you’ll do:

  • Serve as the initial point of contact with local Co-ops (clients) and build a relationship throughout the program implementation cycle through go-live and hypercare support.
  • Review, understand, and document client HR policies, processes, and practices, including CBAs and LOUs (if applicable) such as PTO plan(s), overtime/banked time, hours of work, meal breaks, leave types, employment related deductions, hours of operation, shift premiums/salary payments, minimum call out, student worker shifts, and reporting lines/authority for time approvals.
  • Consider applicable provincial employment legislation (BC, AB, SK, MB, Federal) and recommend changes to policies and practices to ensure compliance and alignment across the CRS.
  • Work as an alliance between the data conversion program team and the client to gather, validate and deliver required data for conversion purposes such as employee core data, vacation, sick and banked time balances, and payroll data (current and YTD) through all cycles of data conversion to ensure high level of accuracy during data conversion and validation cycles.
  • Maintain the client requirements workbook which contains all requirements for system configuration and deliver a completed product for transition to operations.
  • Work with the program team to ensure all workstreams have the data they require and the requirements are clearly and well documented.
  • Provide support to program manager and workstream leaders as directed, including test cycle activities, development of documentation, training, and presentation content, etc.
  • Provide ongoing support to the program team to design and refine engaging learning content that supports HR transformation initiatives.
  • Facilitate hands on technical training sessions for team leaders across the Co-operative Retailing System (CRS), delivered virtually or in-person to ensure accessibility and effectiveness.
  • Plan and execute in-person workshops, managing all logistics including venue selection, travel arrangements, and catering for groups of various sizes.
  • Collaborate with the program team throughout the development process to ensure training materials are relevant, clear, and aligned with overall program goals.
  • Continuously evaluate and refine training content to ensure it meets the evolving needs of the team and aligns with program goals.
  • Provide continued support for customers from training sessions, Go-live cutover activities, and through Payroll cycles.

Who you’ll work with:
You will work closely with the program team and will report into the Training Lead. This team strives to cultivate a culture of collaboration, relationship building and support.

Why it matters:
We help local Co-ops grow and thrive by offering a range of professional services, including marketing, market research, information technology, human resources, accounting, risk management and business development.

Who you are:
You are looking for a project-based role in HR Business Analysis and Training and:

  • High skill level working with MS Office.
  • Experience in HR requirements gathering and validation.
  • Excellent customer service level communication skills.
  • Well organized and efficient with time management and are resourceful without task-based direction.
  • Understand the urgency of deliverables and be able to prioritize to achieve timelines.
  • Able to work well in a virtual environment and be comfortable working with ambiguity.
  • Have 1-3 years of experience within HR Training or learning and development (a combination of relevant education and experience may be considered).
  • Bring 2+ years of strong systems training delivery experience.
  • Hold a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, preference in Human Resources.
  • Comfortable with both in-person and virtual technology-based learning, and able to adapt to evolving priorities.
  • Have a strong familiarity and training experience with Human Capital Management solutions, (preferably Oracle Cloud HCM and UKG Workforce Management).
  • Have provided direct support for customers during project launches/system go-lives, serving as first point of contact.
  • Apply adult learning principles to create positive learning environments and handle sensitive situations with professionalism and care.
  • Have a valid driver's license and the ability to travel one week per month for a minimum of 12 months (2027-2028) to facilitate in-person workshops. As travel across Western Canada is expected, proximity to a major airport is considered an asset.

As a co-operative, we do business differently. We believe in working together to serve Western Canadians, delivering profits back to our communities and investing in sustainable growth. To learn more about who we are and what we offer, visit .

If this opportunity speaks to you, we invite you to apply online. This position will remain open until filled.

As this position is considered a position of trust you may be required to complete a criminal record check in accordance with FCL policies.

FCL embraces diversity and inclusion. We’re working to create a workforce that is as diverse as the communities we serve and an environment where every team member brings their whole self to work. We believe all candidates should feel at home with us and be given the opportunity to fully participate during the recruitment process.
