About Synapticure

Synapticure is the largest, most comprehensive specialty care and life sciences company in the country for those living with neurodegenerative diseases. Founded by patients and caregivers living with these diseases, we are redefining the care and the research paradigm for conditions like Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, and ALS in all 50 states.
Our business is powered by two connected engines.
The CARES Engine (Clinical Operations)
A scalable, 50-state virtualized clinical network providing timely access to expert neurologists and cutting edge treatments with wraparound care coordination and behavioral health support. Our team creates personalized care plans focused on education and empowerment, connecting patients with a multidisciplinary team of subspecialty neurologists, geriatricians, psychologists, and care coordinators who collaborate to deliver comprehensive care.
The CURES Engine (Research & Innovation)
Leveraging our deeply engaged, well characterized national patient cohort, CURES partners with life science, pharma, biotech, and medical device companies to accelerate the development of neurodegenerative treatments, spanning discovery stage lab services, clinical trial services, and real world evidence data and analytics.
Partnering with providers, health plans, and life sciences companies, including CMS' GUIDE dementia care model, Synapticure is dedicated to transforming the lives of millions of individuals and their families living with neurodegenerative diseases.
About the Role
We're hiring a Manager, Licensing & Credentialing to lead our licensing, credentialing, and payer enrollment function. You'll combine operational leadership and direct ownership of complex, high-priority licensing and credentialing workflows (including the full provider onboarding and offboarding process and license pathway determinations) with day-to-day leadership of our L&C team. You will ensure providers stay licensed and credentialed as we grow into new states and payer relationships. It's behind-the-scenes work, but it supports every patient in its own way: every license kept current and every enrollment completed on time is what lets a patient see their provider without interruption.
The Day-to-Day

Provider Onboarding & Offboarding

  • Own the full onboarding sequence end-to-end: execute license pathway determinations, perform compact licensure assessments (IMLC/PSYPACT/NLC/APRN), manage start-date sequencing, transcript/employment verification, and COI tracking.
  • Run sanction/exclusion screening at onboarding and set up DEA registration where applicable.
  • Own the offboarding and termination process end-to-end: deactivating licenses, payer enrollments, and supervision agreements, notifying payers, and archiving records.

Licensing & Credentialing Operations Support

  • Support and oversee multi-state provider licensing applications and renewals (executed by State Licensing leads), maintaining the Master Licensing Sheet and State Coverage Maps to prevent lapses.
  • Support and oversee payer enrollment and credentialing across Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payers (executed by Payer Enrollment leads), including CAQH/Availity management, revalidations, and re-credentialing cycles.
  • Monitor APP restrictions, practice authority, and state board notifications to ensure ongoing regulatory compliance.
  • Serve as the go-to escalation point for complex or unusual licensing, credentialing, and billing/care operational questions.

Collaboration Agreements & Credentialing Committee

  • Execute and maintain collaboration/supervision agreement tracking and routine drafting, transitioning toward full operational ownership under the Director's coaching.
  • Execute Credentialing Committee logistics, managing scheduling, agendas, and documentation while partnering with the Director on committee discussions.
  • Support payer contracting, denials, and appeals, coordinating with the Director on escalation pathways.

Team Leadership & Coaching

  • Manage and coach the L&C team: workload distribution, regular feedback, performance management, and professional development.
  • Set team priorities, process standards, quality checks, and SOP Playbooks for licensing and credentialing work.
  • Hold regular 1:1s with your team.
  • Partner with the Director of Practice Operations on team capacity, staffing needs, and workflow design as the team grows.

Reporting, Compliance & Process Improvement

  • Own regulatory and compliance documentation to keep the organization audit-ready and support internal/external audits.
  • Maintain routine tracking and metrics (license status, credentialing turnaround time, expirables, payer rosters) for leadership visibility.
  • Spot inefficiencies in L&C workflows and drive continuous improvement by leveraging tracking technology, systems optimization, and automation to accelerate onboarding timelines.
  • Lead internal and external operational communications regarding licensing and enrollment status.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years of direct, hands-on experience in state provider licensing, credentialing, and payer enrollment/revalidation workflows.
  • 2-3+ years of team leadership or people management experience managing a licensing and credentialing team or operational function.
  • Solid understanding of the broader U.S. healthcare landscape: payers, regulatory environment, and care delivery models within telehealth.
  • Working knowledge of compact licensure pathways (IMLC, PSYPACT, NLC, APRN Compact).
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills, with comfort owning ambiguous, detail-heavy processes independently.
  • Familiarity with credentialing/licensing tracking software and CAQH/PECOS.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting CMS reimbursement programs or PC-MSO structures.
  • CPCS or CPMSM certification, or actively pursuing.
  • Background in a multi-market, high-growth, or telehealth healthcare environment.
  • Familiarity with leveraging automation or technology integrations to optimize credentialing workflows.

Compensation
Final compensation will be determined based on location, experience, and qualifications.
