**Job description**

The Senior Java Back-End Developer will be responsible for developing, evolving, and maintaining back-end solutions using Java, ensuring high quality, scalability, security, and performance of applications. This role requires strong technical expertise, architectural thinking, and the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, as well as the strategic use of generative AI tools to increase productivity, quality, and innovation.

The professional will also support the building and evolution of AI agents, collaborating in the development of services, integrations, and intelligent workflows that use AI in a secure, observable way and aligned with business needs.

**Main day-to-day activities:**

- Develop, maintain, and evolve back-end services using Java;
- Help build, evolve, and integrate AI agents into existing back-end systems;
- Collaborate in developing services and APIs that support intelligent agents, ensuring scalability and reliability;
- Use generative AI tools, such as Cursor and/or Claude Opus, to:
- Accelerate code development;
- Support refactoring and continuous improvement;
- Assist in analyzing legacy code and reverse engineering;
- Support the writing and review of tests and technical documentation;
- Contribute to the design, evolution, and maintenance of software architecture, including solutions involving AI;
- Implement good development practices, market standards, and principles such as Clean Code, SOLID, and Design Patterns;
- Ensure code quality through technical reviews, automated testing, and supporting tools;
- Work collaboratively with Product, Architecture, DevOps, and other areas to align technical solutions with business objectives.

**Responsibilities:**

- Develop new features and maintain existing solutions;
- Perform reverse engineering of legacy systems, aiming to build new systems or modernize platforms;
- Support initiatives to build AI agents, contributing back-end logic, integrations, and supporting services;
- Monitor, analyze, and optimize application performance;
- Actively participate in technical and strategic decisions related to software development;
- Ensure clear, up-to-date, and easy-to-understand technical documentation;
- Act as a technical reference, mentoring junior and mid-level developers and promoting a continuous learning environment;
- Evaluate and adopt new tools, including AI-based solutions, that bring real efficiency and quality gains to the team.

**Qualifications**

**What we are looking for in you!**

- Solid experience in back-end development with Java;
- Experience developing REST and/or GraphQL APIs;
- Knowledge of relational and non-relational databases;
- Experience with version control (Git) and CI/CD pipelines;
- Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes;
- Experience with cloud computing, especially AWS;
- Experience with agile methodologies (Scrum or Kanban);
- Practical experience or familiarity with using AI tools to support development, such as Cursor, Claude Opus, Copilot, or similar;
- Interest in or experience collaborating on building AI agents and intelligent solutions integrated with the back end.

**Differentials:**

- Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Datadog, Dynatrace, Splunk, or Grafana;
- Relevant technical certifications (AWS, Kubernetes, Java, etc.);
- Experience in technology innovation and digital transformation projects;
- Interest in or experience exploring generative AI applied to the software development lifecycle, including:
- Code review;
- Refactoring;
- Testing;
- Documentation;
- Architecture;
- Support for building intelligent agents.
- Advanced English, with oral and written communication skills for:
- Participation in technical meetings;
- Reading and producing technical documentation;
- Interaction with stakeholders and international teams.
