As the Platform Engineering Manager, you’ll ensure we balance fast delivery with operational excellence.About the RoleWe’re looking for an Engineering Manager to lead and grow a team of platform engineers with a focus on Infrastructure, DevOps and developer experience.This role is responsible for people leadership, technical direction, and delivery across platform initiatives that impact every engineering team at Shakepay. You’ll partner closely with Engineers, Engineering leaders, Security, and Compliance, and lead by example,  staying hands-on where it matters to shape technical decisions, support delivery, and ensure our platform evolves in step with both developer and business needs.You don’t need to be the deepest expert in every area, but you must be technically strong enough to set direction, challenge assumptions, and make tradeoffs across DevEx, infrastructure, and reliability.What You’ll Be DoingLead, coach, and grow a team of platform engineers across Infrastructure, DevOps and Developer Experience.Set technical direction for platform architecture and ensure roadmap executionBalance short-term delivery with long-term investments in tooling, infrastructure, and reliabilityOversee cloud infrastructure, deployment pipelines, and operational tooling in a regulated environmentImprove developer productivity by reducing friction in onboarding, CI/CD, and local-to-prod workflowsEnsure systems are secure, scalable, observable, and resilient as Shakepay growsOwn incident management practices, postmortems, and sustainability of the on-call rotationCollaborate closely with product engineering, security, and compliance stakeholdersAdvocate for platform work by tying technical initiatives to business and customer impactWho We’re Looking For10+ years of experience in software engineering with 3+ years managing and growing high-performing teamsStrong technical background in platform, infrastructure, DevOps or SREFamiliarity with technologies like Kubernetes, AWS, Terraform, ArgoCD, Datadog, PostgreSQL, CI/CD tooling, and GitOpsExperience operating production systems and supporting on-call rotationsAbility to set technical direction across both developer experience and infrastructureStrong collaboration and communication skills, with a focus on business impactBonus pointsExperience in fintech or other regulated environmentsPrior experience as a Staff or Senior Engineer before moving into managementInterest in Bitcoin and excitement to learn moreWhy join us?Help shape the future of money: Be part of a team that's revolutionizing financial services in Canada, one sat at a time.Impact millions: As cryptocurrency continues to gain traction, our potential for growth is massive.
