About the role
We're building a Cloud Center of Excellence that owns the cloud foundation for the entire engineering organization. You'll design the architecture, automation, and governance that other teams build on - not just deploy workloads, but define how workloads get deployed.
If you think about infrastructure as a product and want real ownership over cloud strategy, this is that role.
What You'll do:
· Design and implement a cloud-native platform architecture on GCP
· Build scalable guardrails for multi-team, multi-environment setups with compliance requirements
· Create reusable infrastructure that enables self-service provisioning
· Define cloud governance: IAM strategies, organizational policies, policy-as-code
· Write design documents and represent technical divisions in cross-team and leadership forums
What we're looking for:
· Strong hands-on experience with GCP
· Production Kubernetes experience - networking, security, tenancy, lifecycle management
· Terraform at the module-authoring level, not just the consumer level
· Solid networking fundamentals: VPC design, CIDR planning, DNS, hybrid connectivity
· Experience working in compliance-driven environments (SOC2, PCI-DSS, or similar)
· GitOps methodology and tooling
· Observability stack experience (metrics, structured logging, tracing)
· Clear technical communication - you can write a design doc and defend it
