Founding Applied AI Engineer
ABOUT THE ROLE
As the first senior AI hire at an AI-powered marketing technology startup, you will own the quality and intelligence of multi-channel marketing agents. Working closely with the founder, you will shape the agent architecture, evaluation systems, and learning loops that help the product scale across SEO, content, social, and search.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Build evaluation systems to define and measure agent output quality across marketing channels.
- Design feedback loops that help agents learn from real-world results and performance signals at scale.
- Own agent architecture, model strategy, and the data pipelines that power the agents.
- Hire and lead the AI team as the organization grows.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- 3 or more years building production machine learning or AI systems, including recent hands-on experience shipping LLM products or agents.
- Experience designing evaluations and learning from outcome signals at scale, such as in search, ranking, or recommendation systems.
- Strong TypeScript skills, including Next.js, and Python proficiency for data analysis, evaluations, and model work.
- Ability to ship end to end and turn sound judgment about output quality into measurable, actionable standards.
- Ownership experience in a startup or small-team environment.
- Search or ranking experience, especially involving search engines or AI answer engines, is valuable.
- Experience at a leading AI research organization or a strong research program, and familiarity with marketing, growth, or content products, are beneficial.
