Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Insurance Defense Attorney based in Western Pennsylvania. This role is ideal for a self-directed attorney with substantial insurance defense experience who can independently manage high-value and complex litigation matters with minimal supervision.
The attorney will work remotely and contribute to the firm's regional presence, professional relationships, and continued growth throughout Western Pennsylvania.

Key Responsibilities
- Independently manage insurance defense matters from inception through resolution, including high-value and complex litigation.
- Develop case strategies and draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and discovery documents.
- Conduct and defend depositions.
- Handle court appearances, mediations, arbitrations, settlement conferences, and trial preparation.
- Take ownership of significant litigation matters with minimal supervision.
- Maintain strong relationships with insurance carriers, claims professionals, self-insured entities, and corporate clients.
- Build regional professional relationships and contribute to the growth of the insurance defense practice throughout Western Pennsylvania.

Education and Experience Requirements
Required Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
- Active Pennsylvania law license.
- Substantial insurance defense litigation experience.
- Demonstrated ability to independently manage complex matters.
- Experience handling high-value litigation.
- Strong legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience handling large-loss or high-exposure insurance defense matters.
- Trial experience and significant deposition experience.
- Experience representing insurance carriers or self-insured entities.
- Experience in general liability, automobile liability, premises liability, or trucking and transportation litigation.
- Established relationships with regional insurance carriers, claims professionals, or corporate clients.
- Business development experience or a portable book of business.
- Familiarity with the Western Pennsylvania legal market and an established professional network.
- An entrepreneurial approach to practice growth.
