This is a remote position.
Rockstar is hiring a full-time remote Talent Acquisition Specialist to join our internal team. This isn’t a placement with one of our clients. You’ll work for Rockstar, alongside our talent acquisition and partner success teams, finding the billing professionals who keep U.S. physical, occupational, and speech therapy practices running.
We’re looking for someone who has done the billing work themselves. You’ve owned the full revenue cycle, from charge entry and claim submission through payment posting, denials, appeals, and A/R. Now you want to use that experience to spot the people who can do the job well. You’ll source, screen, assess, and recommend Medical Billing Specialists and related RCM candidates. You’ll also be the person on our team who can tell the difference between a candidate who knows billing and one who only knows the vocabulary.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Sourcing & Pipeline Building

  • Source qualified medical billing and RCM candidates through job boards, LinkedIn, referrals, and direct outreach
  • Write and update job postings for billing roles so they reflect what partner practices need
  • Build and maintain a steady pipeline of candidates ready for upcoming partner placements
  • Track candidate activity, status, and notes accurately in our applicant tracking system

Screening & Technical Vetting

  • Review resumes for real billing experience: full-cycle RCM, payer types, EMR and clearinghouse use, and therapy-specific billing
  • Run screening calls that test what candidates know, including claim workflows, EOB interpretation, denial reasons, appeals, and A/R follow-up
  • Run and score role-specific skills assessments using Rockstar’s call guides and scoring rubrics
  • Spot gaps between what a resume claims and what a candidate can explain, and flag trust concerns early
  • Give clear written recommendations on each candidate’s billing strength and readiness

Matching & Hiring Support

  • Learn each partner practice’s billing setup, payer mix, and systems so candidates fit the actual role
  • Present top candidates to our team with a short summary of strengths and risks
  • Coordinate interviews, follow-ups, and next steps between candidates, our team, and partner practices
  • Support offer, onboarding handoff, and replacement searches when a placement needs to be refilled

Process & Quality

  • Help improve our billing assessments, scenarios, and scoring standards based on what you see in the field
  • Share hiring trends with leadership: where candidates are strong, where they fall short, and what that means for sourcing
  • Keep candidate communication professional, timely, and respectful from first contact to final decision
  • Protect candidate and partner information and follow HIPAA and confidentiality standards at all times

Requirements
Required

  • 5+ years of hands-on medical billing experience covering the full revenue cycle: charge entry, claim submission, payment posting, denials, appeals, and A/R follow-up
  • Strong working knowledge of payer requirements, EOB interpretation, reimbursement rules, and common denial reasons
  • Ability to explain billing workflows clearly and judge whether a candidate’s answers hold up
  • Comfort running live screening calls and asking follow-up questions that test real experience
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
  • Strong organization and follow-through across many candidates and open roles at once
  • Ability to work independently and manage your own daily priorities without close supervision
  • Reliable home office setup with a stable internet connection and a quiet, professional workspace

Preferred

  • Recruiting, HR, or talent acquisition experience, especially in healthcare or remote staffing
  • Billing experience in physical therapy, occupational therapy, or speech therapy practices
  • Familiarity with therapy EMR and billing platforms such as WebPT, Prompt, Raintree, or similar
  • Experience with Medicare, Medicaid, workers’ compensation, and out-of-network billing
  • Experience training, auditing, or leading other billers
  • Comfort with applicant tracking systems, Google Workspace, and cloud-based communication tools

WHAT WE LOOK FOR

  • Billing judgment: you can hear a candidate describe a denial and know right away if they’ve worked one
  • Ownership: you treat every open role like a practice is waiting on it, because one is
  • Honesty: you’ll tell us when a candidate isn’t ready, even when the pipeline is thin
  • Empathy: you remember what it’s like to be on the other side of the interview and treat candidates with respect
  • Reliability: our team and our partners count on your updates. You show up, follow through, and communicate clearly.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary commensurate with experience
  • A full-time remote role on Rockstar’s internal team, not a client placement
  • Opportunities for professional development and long-term career growth
  • Work within a collaborative, supportive team that values your billing expertise
  • Make a meaningful impact by placing the people who keep therapy practices paid and patients cared for
