ABOUT ABRIDGE
Abridge was founded in 2018 with the mission of powering deeper understanding in healthcare. Our AI-powered platform was purpose-built for medical conversations, improving clinical documentation efficiencies while enabling clinicians to focus on what matters most—their patients.
Our enterprise-grade technology transforms patient-clinician conversations into structured clinical notes in real-time, with deep EMR integrations. Powered by Linked Evidence and our purpose-built, auditable AI, we are the only company that maps AI-generated summaries to ground truth, helping providers quickly trust and verify the output. As pioneers in generative AI for healthcare, we are setting the industry standards for the responsible deployment of AI across health systems.
We are a growing team of practicing MDs, AI scientists, PhDs, creatives, technologists, and engineers working together to empower people and make care make more sense. We have offices located in the Mission District in San Francisco, the SoHo neighborhood of New York, and East Liberty in Pittsburgh.
THE ROLE
Abridge is launching a Forward Deployed Engineering motion to go deeper with our health system partners. As one of the founding Forward Deployed Product Managers, you will run focused engagements with our health system partners: going on-site to understand the workflow gap, scoping the engagement with the partner, and owning the outcome end-to-end. You will lead a pod and feed your learnings from the field directly back into the core Abridge product.
This is a role for a senior product leader who can earn the trust of CMOs, CMIOs, CIOs, and operational leaders inside large health systems, while staying close enough to our core product roadmap to make sharp technical trade-offs in real time. You will set the tone for what forward deployed means at Abridge: deep, fast, opinionated, and focused on solving our partners’ most burning problems, which in turn strengthens our core product suite overall.
This role is based out of our San Francisco office and is in-person Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Please only apply if you are open to relocation and our hybrid in-person model in San Francisco.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Run discovery on-site at our partner accounts. Meet with the executive sponsor, clinicians, and integration teams to scope the engagement and define success before any code is written.
- Lead a small pod through focused, sprint-style engagements, protecting pod focus and pace.
- Own the product and feature answer for the engagement, partnering with Partner Success on the broader commercial relationship.
- Decide what gets built, what gets declined, and what gets routed to the core roadmap. Hold the line on bespoke requests that don't generalize back to the core product.
- Partner with internal product and engineering teams when an engagement surfaces a net-new product build that belongs on a different track.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
- 7+ years of product management experience shipping products that users love, with a track record of owning product areas end-to-end.
- Builder mentality. You've personally driven products from discovery through launch and iteration. You care about craft and quality in what you ship.
- Strong user empathy and product taste. You instinctively know the difference between a product that works and one that delights.
- Comfort with ambiguity. You can take a messy problem space and create a clear roadmap without waiting for perfect information.
- Cross-functional credibility. You can go deep with engineers on technical tradeoffs, partner with design on interaction details, and operate as the senior product
voice in front of CMOs, CMIOs, CIOs, and CFOs.
- Track record of running time-bound, outcome-oriented engagements where the deliverable was a live system, not a document.
- Willingness to travel ~20% on average, with surge periods around engagement kickoff and go-live.
Bonus points if:
- Healthcare or clinical workflow experience, or familiarity with Epic or other EHR platforms.
- Prior experience in a forward deployed, solutions engineering, or customer-facing product role at an enterprise AI company.
