Staff Accountant - (REMOTE from Portugal)

What you will do:
- Perform monthly close activities including preparation of journal entries, maintaining account reconciliations and monthly flux analysis
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions in a timely manner from Portugal and other EMEA countries assigned
- Ensure timely responses to client requests and internal queries;
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements and supporting documentation for audit purposes;
- Handling external and internal queries via email / phone.
- Identify and calculate provisions and exceptions to standard bookings;
- Assist in developing and documenting business processes, procedures, checklists, and policies
- Performs other duties as assigned or required.
How you will make an impact:
- Developing professional expertise, applying company policies and procedures to resolve a variety of issues.
- Works on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors. Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action. Builds productive internal/external working relationships.
- Normally receives general instructions on routine work, detailed instructions on new projects or assignments.
How you will grab our attention:
Knowledge and Skills Requirements:
- Degree in business, majoring in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
- 3 to 5 years of combined experience in accounting and GL close process.
- Fluent in Portuguese, Spanish and English is mandatory Knowledge of additional languages is highly valued.
- Strong understanding of local GAAP accounting and financial/operational understanding, US GAAP is a plus.
- Knowledge and experience working with Primavera, Odoo is highly desired not mandatory
- Highly developed knowledge and experience with Microsoft Excel
- Work collaboratively and communicate often with several internal departments
- Adapt to new tasks and responsibilities as the business grows and changes
- Contributing to the organization in a professional manner with a positive attitude
