Core Responsibilities

• Ensure the proper maintenance, upgrades and continuous operation of networks.

• Support all UDC users in their daily day to day operations in Network, s/w, h/w and other IT related issues.

• The objective of this position also includes the complete maintenance of systems and train the new users.

• Develops standards for computer and network systems, to include standards for wiring, equipment & system security.

• Provides workstation hardware and software technical support to system users.

• Provides planning and advanced technical expertise regarding computer and network services for both local and wide area networks, and the worldwide internet.

• Serves as high-level technical expert in regards to computer/network systems and associated issues.

• Installs, configures, and maintains computer and network operating system and application software, as appropriate.

• Provides on-call support for computer/network systems as required.

• Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

• Administer and maintain email and communications including installation and upgrades.

• Install and upgrade client software on PC's for email, adding and removing users and maintaining email list.

• Maintain network security including installation and maintenance of fire wall.

• Ensure installation and maintenance of anti-virus and spy ware software on both servers and workstations.

• Install upgrade servers and workstations operating system.

• Install and upgrade servers and workstation application software.

• Implements integrated network architectures for medium-to-large computer systems.

• Maintain and support all Audio Visual equipment at all sites.

• Train the new users on ICT related equipment and systems.

• Perform other duties assigned by direct supervisor to ensure that the flow of work is continuous and adequate relief is provided.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Education: Bachelor's degree - IT Related.

• Experience: 3 years of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Skills & Knowledge

• Communication Skills: Effectively communicates with users and ability to communicate technical information to non-technical personnel.

• Knowledge of current technological developments/trends in area of expertise.

• Advanced knowledge and understanding of a range of computer and networking software and hardware systems and related technologies.

• Ability to install, configure, and maintain personal computers, networks, and/or related hardware and software.

• Ability to analyze and assess computer/network architecture requirements and determine optimum, cost-effective solutions.

️ QHSE Awareness
The successful candidate must be aware of the QHSE Management System and understand:

• Aware of the QHSE Management System.

• Understand the importance of conformance to the QHSE Policy and procedures and to the requirements of QHSE management system.

• Aware of the Customer Requirements (where relevant).

• Aware of the Significant Environmental Aspects and Occupational Hazards / risk in this area of operation.

• Aware of potential or actual Consequences of his/her work activities and deviation from specified Operating Procedures.

• Aware of current Objectives and Targets in this area and what is the current status.

• Aware of Emergency Preparedness & Response.
