About the Role
H&R Block is rethinking how clients navigate their taxes, finances, and the experiences that support them throughout the year. We're looking for a Senior Product Designer to help shape intuitive digital experiences from concept through delivery, partnering closely with Product Managers, Engineers, and fellow designers to solve complex problems, explore new ideas, and bring them to life through rapid prototyping, experimentation, and customer feedback. You'll contribute to product strategy, influence how we work through our design system and practices, and help create experiences that are both thoughtful and impactful. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys tackling ambiguous challenges, working independently, and balancing strong design craft with continuous learning and iteration.
Day to day, you'll...
- Design end-to-end user experiences for responsive web products and workflows
- Partner closely with Product Managers, Engineers, and fellow designers throughout the product development lifecycle
- Develop and test prototypes to validate ideas and gather customer feedback
- Conduct and participate in user research activities, including interviews, usability testing, and concept validation
- Translate customer needs, business goals, and research insights into effective product experiences
- Contribute to and evolve the team's design system and design practices
- Use modern design and prototyping tools, including AI-assisted workflows where appropriate
- Present design solutions and rationale to cross-functional stakeholders
- Continuously improve experiences through experimentation, iteration, and product learnings
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- 5+ years of experience designing end-to-end digital product experiences for responsive web applications
- Strong portfolio demonstrating user-centered design, interaction design, visual design, and product thinking
- Experience partnering closely with Product Managers and Engineers to deliver customer-focused solutions from concept through launch
- Experience creating, testing, and refining prototypes based on customer feedback, experimentation, and product outcomes
- Strong communication skills, comfort working independently in ambiguous environments, and a commitment to accessibility and usability best practices
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience planning and conducting user research, including interviews, usability testing, and other discovery methods, and translating findings into product decisions
- Ability to incorporate quantitative and qualitative insights to identify opportunities and improve customer experiences
- Experience creating high-fidelity prototypes and partnering closely with engineers through implementation
- Familiarity with AI-assisted design tools, emerging design technologies, and designing AI-powered or automation-driven experiences
- Experience contributing to or working within an enterprise design system, including components, patterns, and documentation
- Strong visual design skills and experience designing products in financial services, fintech, tax, or other regulated industries, with the ability to translate complex requirements into intuitive customer experiences

Pay Range Information
The pay range for this position is listed below. Local minimum wage laws apply. This information is posted pursuant to local requirements to provide applicants with information about what they might be eligible to receive. Individual pay decisions will depend on job-related factors such as experience, education, skill, performance, and geographic location where work will be performed. Successful candidates may be able to participate in one or more incentive compensation or short-term incentive plans, which could generate additional earnings in accordance with the terms of each plan. Qualifying associates can enroll themselves and/or their eligible dependents in medical and prescription drug coverage; can participate in the H&R Block Retirement Savings Plan (401(k) Plan), the Employee Assistance Program, (virtual) fitness center programs, and the associate discount program; are automatically enrolled in Business Travel Accident Insurance; and receive Associate Tax Prep benefit.
Pay Range
$89,800.00 - $134,700.00/Yr.
